NOw for one of my 1st questions

Post by EdwardKnoxII » Mon Jan 27, 2003 9:29 pm

And here it is. Now we all know that KITT was so cool as a brand new 3rd gen, black Trans Am. Pretty much KITT made that car famous. Now my question is if KITT wasn't a Trans Am what kind of car do you see him as from time period. In black, of course. :D

Well seeing how much alike the cars were in style I could see KITT in Camaro. Also, I could see him in a '84 Vette. The reason I say '84 is cause if was the first year of the 4th gen. You know the kind of Vette Face had in the A-Team. Now to a lesser level I could KIND OF see KITT in a Ford Mustang. Again kind of.

So what are your views on this.

This is sort of one of those topics that comes up once a month.

I know that I answered with: 2002 'Vette.

Oh sorry about the question didn't know it was asked.

And I think KIT would be cool in a '02 Vette. I was just wonder the cars you think he would look good during the time the show was on the air in '82-'86.

Since you're talking about cars from the 80s, how about THE definitive 80s car, the DeLorean? Of course, if KITT were a DeLorean then chances are Michael J. Fox would have driven something else in Back To The Future. Maybe even a Trans Am!

Hmm.. I'll go with Mike and the DeLorean. Or how about an 82' Toyota Celica Supra, that would have worked, though it was small. A Datsan 300ZX, or the tiny Firebird, the Fiero.

Yeah I could see him as a black DeLorean. Now as for a Trans Am in Back To The Future. That would be funny to see Doc Brown drive out in one with all the time junk on the back of it and him giving the Trans Am giwing doors.

Hmmm. A 300Z, maybe. But, there is no way that I could see KITT as a Fiero. As small as those cars were could you really see someone as tall as Michael fitting in them.

I say that he would ook good in a full customized car (from back to front), or maybe a modified Ford Mustang (I know youguys don't like Fords much, but the Mustang IS the best muscle car of any year).

BLASPHEMY! :)

The Mustang lost all credibility as a true muscle car when Lindsey Wagner started doing commercials for them.

The mustang lost all respect with the invention of the Mustang II (circa mid 70's), a cheesy 4-cylinder with no muscle. I mean, cmon.

G'night, ladies and gentlemen!

At least the Chevette is rear-wheel drive, still good for 180s.

Now imagine KITT in a Hyundai! "Michael, my sensors indicate that the transmission is slipping."

I was just reading some old posts and found this
Now imagine KITT in a Hyundai! "Michael, my sensors indicate that the transmission is slipping."
Or how about this: "Michael, my sensors indicate that FLAG put me in a crappy ecnocar."

I was thinking about another 80s car I could see KITT in and thought how about a Buick Grand National GNX, hell they even had T-Tops and look bad in black. Look for yourself http://www.musclecarclub.com/musclecars ... onal.shtml

i think they use the word "criminey" alot.. not quite sure what it means but all the he haws in my home town say it so they should have it mastered in the south..

kitt could have a big metallica sticker on him.. lol

hed probly be a monster truck.. er.. car... (theres some site with a guyy that made his 83 firebird into a monster whatever.. called big bird i think.. )

the scanning noise would be some kind of banjo jingle.

instead of smoke screen the hatch would poip open and hay would be released into teh air..

bonnie would be more daisy dukeish.. lol

and most importantly of all kitt would be nothing more than a rusted out whatever kinda car, with no high tech capabilities and teh voice would be pre recorded on 8 track... the "suthernuuurs" just doesnt have teh knowledge to use all that stuff :)

Now if I remember my history correctly. KITT was designed by the studios to be a 82 Corvette. But, due to the unfortunate train wreck Pontiac experienced when a full shipment of trans ams derailed, damaging most of the cars, The studios took advantage of this accident and purchased these cars for use on the show. Hence, KITT in a Trans Am.

I personally don't think the show would have had a 4 year run using a corvette as I can't really see them buying all those vettes new and jumping them and what not. I think it would have limited the use of stunts in the show. Same went for Knight Rider 2000. Using a custom car like that limited what they coudl do with only the 2 cars they had, and one was a boat.

Just posting what i remember reading on it back then. If someone has more info, please feel free to ad it.
