[Giggles]

MICHAEL
I had a feeling she would sneek out again.

DEVON
I'm not as young as I used to be.

Michael grabs Cindy and pulls her over to the chair. He makes her sit down.

MICHAEL
You are staying here.

Devon sits down. Michael stands by Cindy.

MICHAEL (CONT'D)
He's telling you the truth. Your father has a rap
sheet as long as my arm.

CINDY
He does not!

MICHAEL
Then how come he doesn't come to visit you.

DEVON
He never sends you birthday cards.

CINDY
He's busy with work.

Cindy tries to get up and Michael pushes her back down.

MICHAEL
I think we better show her the video.

DEVON
I was hoping it wouldn't come to that.

Michael presses a button and video is played on a tv. He turns Cindy's chair around so she can see it.

CU OF TV

A REPORTER is covering the story.

REPORTER
Steven Bash has been arrested for the fouth
beating after robbing the bank. The police are
waiting on the autopsy to see if Steven is going
to be charged with murder.

REVEAL

Cindy's reaction.

CINDY
My dad wouldn't kill anyone.

DEVON
He didn't when he started. Toward the end he did.

MICHAEL
He is doing life now. Which is why he never
got out to see you.

Cindy absorbs this.

CINDY
I'm getting sick.

MICHAEL
i'll get you a soda.

Michael exits. Devon walks over to her.

DEVON
I'm sorry I had to tell you all this. I rather did this
when you are older and can handle it.

CINDY
How did you get out of it?

DEVON
Well? After I told them what happened. The police
gave me a new name and job.

CINDY
That's why Michael calls you Devon?

DEVON
Yes and I rather you called me Uncle Devon too.

CINDY
Okay. I'll do that.

[Giggles]

Sorry about that guys. I"ve be bogged down with deadlines with work. Everything is due at the end of the year so I might not get back as much as I did. Okay here we go.

Michael
You're welcome.

Cindy
No.

Michael grabs her shirt and brings her back to the chair. He makes her sit in the chair.

Michael
Stay!

Cindy
I'm not a dog.

Michael
Want to bet?

Cindy
Hey!

She gets up and Michael pushes her down in the chair again.

Michael
I'm in charge now. You are going to answer his question.
Who is Leon?

Cindy folds her arms.

Devon
Cindy. I know it is hard for you to accept the fact that I am your uncle,
but I am. Your father was... a good man.

Cindy
Yes he was... is...

Michael
You miss him?

Cindy
No. He's here.

Michael
Where?

KITT
Michael?

MICHAEL
Yes Kitt.

KITT
He's been dead for seven years.

MICHAEL
When?

KITT
When Mr. Miles killed him.

Cindy and Michael react.

CINDY
You killed my father?

MICHAEL
Give him a chance to explain.

Cindy goes over to Devon and tries to choke him.
