Autoart makes almost the Mustang from new Knight Rider, the GT500 model but of course its not the official GT500KR model. Haven't heard about any official new Knight Rider diecast models or other merchandise yet.

Thanks to ERTL 1:18 KITT I got interested about diecast models in general back in 2004. Have gotten some 1:18 models but mostly, due to the lack of space, I've gotten 1:43 diecast cars.
I recenty saw a post in scale18.com that since ERTL will stop making diecast models, they'll lease out their molds later this year to some "well known manufacturer" so 1:18 KITT models and other ERTL models may still be produced
Welcome to the site btw.

It still early days yet.
But if the pilot is a hit and a season follows then there will be loads of merchandise hitting the shops, diecast being the most obvious.

Hotwheels makes a nice 1:18 07/08 GT-500 but it's not GT-500KR. Hopefully they'll do a KR soon since they have the Shelby license. I've already seen people trying to hock the 1:64 Hotwheels GT-500 on ebay painted to look like KITT.

I hope they put out a model kit as well.
Re: Kitt diecast ideas
Just read an e-mail tonight that Shelby Collectibles, a susidiary of Shelby Automotive Industries (who builds the GT500KR Mustang), will be offering a die-cast of the new KITT. BTW, mines pre-ordered.

Re: Kitt diecast ideas
I looked online and couldn't find any details. Could you please post a link?
Re: Kitt diecast ideas
Diecastmuscle.com has the pre-order up for $38.99 for 1:18 scale. Since it's a Shelby Collectible it most likely be available in 1:25 too.

On the main page (top left hand corner) search for Knight Rider. That's how I found it. Took me a while because it wouldn't find it from any of the other pages that had search.

Funny I actually found me a Mustang diecast car that looks a bit like the new Kitt. Is their any word on when this diecast will be out cause I know its a pre-order but it doesn't say when it will be released.

Re: Kitt diecast ideas
Hi!
Haven't posted in a while. Ok, is this a pre-order for Attack mode KITT, or a production model GT500KR? Is it going to have the lit up scanner bar like my Trans AM KITT? I got a 1:24th scale for my son (he's 5, but he has his own KITT 1:18th scale--it looks like KITT from "Junkyard Dog" or "Goliath" LOL! It would be cool if it was "Attack Mode" because that is more unique, but I'm ok if it's the cruising mode KITT. Thanks for the tip! Can't wait for next season.

Re: Kitt diecast ideas
That link isn't working, just redirects to the main site again.
incidently doing a search for knight rider or knightrider doesn't garner any result, the closest i can find is a red with white stripe version coming out later in the year, is that the one you mean? if so then it's not an official KR2008 model
