The Scanner
Who likes the Old Scanner that was on Kitt in the original series?
I kind of like the old scanner lights better then the new one. Just something we have to get use to if this becomes a series.
I thought they would go more with LED Lights since that is the newest types of light out in the market these days.

I like the old scanner better. The new one looks to organic to me. But I'm getting used to it.
Good point about the LED's.

I like the old scanner better too, but I think I can get used to the new one, but the voice-box, however, I don't think I'll ever like. They should have a more enhanced version of the old voice-box

Re: The Scanner
Yeah I prefer the old one too.
The new one doesn't really look like a scanner.. just more of a flash-boy neon from the fast and the furious.

Re: The Scanner
I love the new one, think it is so much better than the original. The original was brilliant yes, but brilliant for its time. Today it would look antiquated. And they did use LED's for this new one, they just put more work into it rather than a simple stream of lights, and I think it has paid off amazingly well!!

Re: The Scanner
New car, new scanner. I can live with it. The new one fits the Mustang. and the moment I accepted that this KITT is a new KITT, I liked it's scanner.
So for me it's hard to compare. The Mustang with the old scanner would look as odd as the Trans Am with the new one.
Yeah, very diplomatic Love the new car!

Re: The Scanner
I'm very happy they did not try to replicate KITT 2000's scanner. It is something that should remain distinctive to him. This scanner looks like it is derived from the same technology, but is a separate entity all its own.
This is actually what I had really hoped TKR would have done, namely give each vehicle its own distinct scanner color and/or pattern (like Dante should have had a blue scanner for instance since it would go well with the silver).

Re: The Scanner
^ Agreed. I miss the swoopy noise.
But...I can deal. I think they had to change it y'know? A throwback would have been to cliched.

Re: The Scanner
Well, the new scanner does have its own sound, but unfortunately it wasn't featured in the movie. However, the very first commercial released by NBC does feature the scanner sound:redtetrahedron wrote:I liked the scanner except it mad no sound like the Knight 2000's scanner... I miss that

Re: The Scanner
Ermm....I think that's just a start-up noise, not really like the swoooosh....swoooosh of KITT's.

Re: The Scanner
Of course it's not the same [woowoo] sound of classic K.I.T.T.'s scanner; this one has more of a pulsing sound. The start-up noise can be heard at first, then the scanner.TheMechanic wrote:Ermm....I think that's just a start-up noise, not really like the swoooosh....swoooosh of KITT's.

Re: The Scanner
That robot on the table in Graimens house has the old scanner on it. Just before they enter the garage.
I like the new one better, it's more mystical.
