1982 - 1983 model trans am's had the solid rear bench in the back.
1984 - 1985 models had the split back seats. That is how you can tell
what year cars they used in what season.

Throughout the third and fourth seasons, you can also see the back seats constantly changing back and forth with the split disappearing and reappearing.

True I have noticed that happen a few times. I suppose thats why KITT looks better in the 3/4 seasons because he is a newer model.
Anyone know why KITT only has two fog lights on both sides in the 3/4 seasons and in the 1/2 he has 3 on each side.

I don't agree, my car is an original '84, and it has the solid rear bench

interesting

what would you prefer anyway. I like having a line in between because it looks a bit nicer compared to one big bench

As I prefer KITT in the first season, I must say I am quite pleased with my solid rear bench :D

I think that's simply because the producers wanted to slightly tweak K.I.T.T.'s appearance for each new season.

In the first season he had six fog lights, bumper grills, and transparent turn signal blackouts; in the second season he had four fog lights, bumper grills, and non-transparent blackouts; in the third season the bumper grills were removed as was the turn signal blackouts, although indents for them remained on the nose; in the fourth season the indents were completely gone along with the blackouts, and the entire nose had sharper lines that matched the Trans Am better.
