From 89 to 82

Just got my 89 Firebird and it looks pretty good. However, some parts of the car are in disrepair such as my lower centre console. So I am here to ask for conversion help, does anybody know if I can fit a 82 lower centre console on an 89 Firebird? The car is an automatic and is ready to become the Pilot KITT Car.

TNknight,

Congrats on purchasing a Firebird to make a replica conversion. As a person with a KITT replica myself, I give advice to others doing the same to be patient and be prepared for a long adventure and $$$$$$ lol. I have been working on my KITT replica for 11 years now and not finished yet lol and I started out with a correct 1982 Trans am Blk/gold, t-top car lol

TO answer your question YES an 82-84 Firebird console WILL fit your car, But I suggest you get a '83-84 console since the shift plate has the overdrive selector and your car has the 4 speed 700R4 transmission and the 82's had the 3-speed transmissions

I specialize in 82-84 Firebird parts so if you need anything please let me know dmcman108@yahoo.com

Thanks,
