I could be mistaken but I don't think they existed anywhere. They were not in any of the cars or on any of the dash props. All they ever showed was the close up of the cover sliding over and the finger pushing the button. I always pictured them on the overhead console, I wonder if any of the K.I.T.T replicas have them?james olden wrote:Does anyone know where the spm buttons are actually located in ki2t

Most of the season 4 episodes I remember Michael leaning forward or looking down toward the lower console.Once it was overhead but most of the time it was imagined to be on the lower console. There was no more room left on the lower area to fit that panel so I don't think it ever existed in a car.It was like a stage prop like the dash scenes were all done in a studio with people who had perfect fingers. Some scenes you will notice Michael wearing sneakers yet a leather show hitting the accelerator.Goliath returns had a red panel for the grappling hook overhead. This never exited on any of the kitts.

I remember that in "Knight of the Juggernaut" that one of the times Michael engages the SPM, he presses a combination of buttons on the overhead then we see the close up of the SPM/EBS console opening up. He seems to move his arm forward, so I always assumed that the SPM/EBS console was on the dash somewhere around the monitor.
But as was already stated, we never saw it in relation to the rest of the dash, so it was most likely something that was added in editing.

If we are talking about the real world, the SPM console probably wasn't in the car itself. In fact, I am 99% certain it wasn't. But in the show I imagine it to be situated underneath the dash although how Michael would not accidentally hit the wrong button is hard to imagine.

While we're on the subject of panels that never existed.I remembered the trajectory guide had a red pane in Blind Spot season 2l so did the grappling hook in Goliath Returns season 2.I also remember season 3/4 having shots of surveilance mode but that dash never had the area for it.It was a cutaway shot from season 1/2 stock footage reused.
