If they were't talking about the new KARR becoming a nemesis to KI3T I'd say this damage might have been caused by the new KARR self-destructing at the end of the battle, damaging KI3T with the blastwave and this would be the stunt car that got barbequed by the flames.
But as the new KARR is suppoced to become a new re-occuring nemesis I doubt this. My money is ether on the new KARR being armed with a flamethrower (the military ones that were acutally used really were effective and they didn't ban them for just the fun of it) or detonating it's fueltank to dissable KI3T so it could make an escape with a backup fuel tank only to return in the next season (if there will be one that is)...
