What the heck kind of car are they using in that picture?
That's one cheap way to do a conversion out of nearly anything.

OMG! On closer inspection, you're right!
Need to look carefully at the rear of the car, where that guy's arm is!

It's an fwd Opel Ascona (1982-1989) which I think even somewhat resembles a 3rd gen Firebird. Especially the 2 door sedan. Of course the rear window isn't even close to the TA but still, even the Ascona's dashboard curves ergonomically a bit to the center like KITT's dash.
Still, the car is horrible in that picture, the nose especially and the Ascona have been changed to some kind of pick-up version which wasn't factory option.

WTF!!!!! What is that? It looks like someone was trashed when they made THAT.... I mean, it looks like someone took a bat, a few M-80's, some shoe polish, and duct tape and made that.... God, I know some one down my street that is making a Knight Rider Conversion out of a Eclipse. And to tell you the truth, it is not bad at all. I don't know how she is going to extend the front end... but hey, its not half bad.

Ricer. LOL!
As for the Opal, I remember reading that GM wanted to make a self-driving car (self-drives up to 60 mph) and it was to be the 2008 Opal Vectra. Odd coincidence.
Looks like they made the KITT attachments out of cardboard.

Check out the "bowling ball" hubcaps. Too many holes in the wrong place.
