Where did Bonnie Go?

Could someone please tell me where Bonnie (Patricia McPherson) went in the second season? Was she fired? Did she take a year off? What happened?

She left a season the FLAG to resume her studies to the university of San Francisco.

During one of his missions in San Francisco, Michael crossed accidentally Bonnie and asked her to return to the foundation. At the beginning hesitating, she eventually accepted under influences me of Michael and Devon.

That was the character explanation about the studies. The actress was fired. She wanted an onscreen romance between Bonnie and Michael and the producers didn't so she was fired. Edward, and David fought to get her back in time for her return in season 3.

Although it's true that Patrica McPherson wanted more character development between Bonnie & Michael, that's not quite why she was fired. Basically the producers wanted someone with more "flash", and red-headed Rebecca Holden certainly met that requirement. (I'm making a distinction between "flash" and "beauty".) But by season 3 they realized how much appeal Bonnie had, Hasselhoff had a little more clout, and McPherson returned.

God I hated April. (Ok not hated... just really, really disliked) She striked me has a little bit ditzy.

April: Like, Oh My God Michael. Like what did you like to Kitt.

I'm sorry but that is what I could see her saying at one point in the show.
