Mobile Unit & Goliath semis

Post by walter h. anderson » Mon Jan 17, 2005 2:13 pm

Here's a really good question to toss out to the Message Board.

What kind of semis were the FLAG Mobile Unit and Goliath?

There's a model store close to where I live, and I might be able to build 1/25th scale models of these fine semis.

Well.....

From the outside, Goliath does look like a semi (with the trailer to hold the South African commandoes and the missiles from Red Bluff), but I don't know about a "truck". :?

I think the hardest part of building models of these semis would be the logo painting on the trailer sides for the FLAG semi, not to mention the metal grate on Goliath's front and Goliath's rocket launchers above the cab. I still know I can do it, though.

only noticed during the recent showing (and HOW many times have i seen goliath? lolololol) that the front of the grill, the actual front of each thin strip of metal is black, try painting THAT lol. and the model in the show of goliath couldn't even get the amount of grillwork right!

and it must be an american/british thing, you guys call them semi's, we simply call them "big" trucks lol!

we call them semi's down under
but out in the out back of australia we call them road trains
as there usually about 4-10 semi's in length, try passing one of those on
our dirt roads..
