So how come we didn't see most of that when KI3T was in attack mode?
KITT: I walked right into that one, didn't I?
Michael: More like Turbo Boosted.

So, how comes we ended up with the attack mode we've seen on the show when the first concept was so much cooler.
I mean, this is way better:

Sadly, budget restraints probably made it so that they could not get anywhere near the concept for attack mode.
KITT: Michael, your blood alcohol level is far too high to allow you to take the wheel.
MIKE: That’s fine. I don’t wanna drive anyway. I want a burger. Take me to a drive-thru.

Awesome pictures
Im wondering if we get a season2,hopefully we do,if they may change the Attack mode again?Make it look better perhaps, cuz yeah I still dont really like the shows Attack mode compared to the Pilots Attack mode.
Hmm perhaps when I start my replica maybe I should make the Pilot Attack mode instead of just a regular KI3T?

yeah trully... the concept looks alot cooler than actuall attack... think they should stick to it (or to pilot attack) in 2nd seasson...
and even cooler idea: build attack mode on mustang 2009... that would be kickass!!!

That looks like the Batmobile from Batman and Robin. I think it looks hideous! I'd like, for once, for someone to design a 'attack' version of a Knight Industries vehicle with functionality instead of hideous wings and lights that serve no purpose!

The build pictures are cool to see...
Those illustrations look to me like Viper Mk2. Things popping out, shooting this, shooting that...for me personally, there's no real reason for SPM, Attack mode, whatever. The car should be able to do it's things without having to pop things out transformer style.
And the KITT seat??? I'm thankful they didn't go that approach. Too Cartoony...

Yeah but concepts usually do look much cooler than the final product, be it due to practicality, budget, or market as well as other factors. Just look at all the cool looking concept cars we've seen over the years that have never made it to the assembly line for mass production or if they usually do it's in another form that's not as cool.
The new and again improved evil's advertisement is currently too long and too badass to display here. But let's just say that with now 50% more evil, this **** is great!

Woah, those tiny GT wheels do give you an idea just how big the Attack mode body kit is.
The seat concepts look like something from a spacecraft, cool.
Thanks for posting dude

Yes I was thinking of that, but how much more would it cost to make it?
Thats where Im at now, good idea but the cost is probally the big issue here.

So I just got off the phone with one of my fiberglass dudes and we are going to make my KI3T's attack mode like the preproduction attack mode.
This attack mode is MUCH better because it can transform in real life instead of cgi.
The collapsable hydroblower will be a prop fitted above the engine that will raise two fold out panels by hydraulics when in attack mode. I will be getting Pierre from Auto Indulgence to figure out a way to do the innershell red light treatment. My bodywork guy can take 2" off the top.
The spoiler lifts up and pushs forward. The sides should be fun as hell to do too.
This is gonna look so boss!
Oh boy ideas ideas!

So you're going to make your replica able to 'transform' into Attack Mode from the pilot or this one? Either way man...that's quite a dream. Taking 2" off the top means 'chopping' the top of the car, I assume is what you're saying? That's a LOT of body work and man hours in itself. If you can pull it off, it'll look amazing no doubt. Next year's festival is going to be great! I hope you can make it so we can compare our KI3T's side by side!

Hy taoworm!
Nice pics!
I'm not sure, so my question is:
The cars on the pics are yours or the actual screen cars from the show?

No, no these pics are not of my car. These are pics from the attack mustangs that were being made for the series at the time. The others are preproduction drawings of the attack mode KITT and such.
The attack mode I am building will be based on the 1st draft preproduction series drawing of the attack KITT.
