In this pic I see the K2000 at the bottom, the K3000 at the top and an unknown vehicle in the middle. So if the K2000 is intact, what is the car with the missing hood and TPI motor?

Re: Goodbye to an old friend...

He might not be dead. As neps said in another thread, there were many cars in the garage and one of those was an intact black Trans am.

Thank you for mentioning that, I thought I was going crazy.

Re: mustang

KR fans should be thankful we are getting a show called Knight Rider that has a black car with a red scanner. For some twisted reason that fundamental element was overlooked by the creators of the past reboot attempts.

Re: KITT now on Leno's garage webcast

Jay Leno is hardly any tom, dick or harry. I don't think NBCU is worried about lending a $50,000 car to person who has millions upon millions of dollars. He has a huge car collection with cars that are worth a 100 times more then the "attack" KITT.

Re: mustang gt 0-60 similar to cobalt.

Fair enough, allow me to rephrase. The purpose built race cars that have claimed victory at indy, Lemans or F1 for the past 90 years or so have been rwd. These cars are the pinnacle of everything automotive and are rwd, no fwd car has ever attempted any of these races for a reason. As far as awd goe...

RWD will always be superior, thats why purpose built race cars are RWD. You will never see FWD at Bonneville, Indy 500, F1 or the 24 hours of Lemans.

Re: Huge interview with Bruening & Bartis (and some new photos)

The Camaro and other "zeta" platform vehicles will be built in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. GM has invested a lot in the new "flex" line and has high hopes for the new facility.

Re: Huge interview with Bruening & Bartis (and some new photos)

So if the K2000's motherboard is in the K3000, does that means we will never see the original in action again?

Re: rwd vs fwd: what I am saying

Seeker, I respect your patriotism an understand you are not a gearhead but when KITT hits the big screen don't you want him to be the absolute best he can and have a grand presence so everybody will be blown away. That simply cannot happen if he is a G5/G6.

Re: rwd vs fwd: what I am saying

First of all 1.2 sec is about 6-7 car lengths which is lot in a drag race and second arguing about 0-60 times is for 11 year olds on the school playground. 0-100mph or 1/4 mile are the true tests and in either one the g5/g6 would be destroyed. Seeker are you a spokesman for GM's delta platform?

Re: how to turbo boost irl?

Just an idea but maybe it could be done by manipulating the high speed air under the car. Something like a variable underbody by which one could control the air pressure under the car, that would allow you put the pressure where ever you like and control the duration/intensity of lift. I think this ...

Re: rwd vs fwd: what I am saying

Use the g5/g6 as KITT and instead of having onboard AI have an onboard vic 20/commodore 64, it will match the car. Automotive design has changed a lot and no one makes a KITT type car anymore, it has to be a one off custom job that looks similar to the original.

Re: rwd vs fwd: what I am saying

Having a G5/G6 as the K2000 would be worse than having Bob Saget play the lead in the new Rambo, but I guess it would be ok since they both have two eyes, two arms.....etc.

Re: rwd vs fwd: what I am saying

True performance cars always have been and will be rwd. Supercars, F1 and the Lemans type endurance prototypes are all rwd, is has to do with weight transfer during acceleration. The big red pimple from KR2000 was fwd and near the end when MK leaves it does a little spin which looked pitifull. As fo...
