Re: Interesting reason why no Knight Rider Movie as of yet!

I think it's much harder to remake a series after it not only ended, but had 2 timelines added afterwards. With the other shows, because they had 1 timeline, you can either rewrite it, make a prequel or have a continuation. I disagree. Most people don't remember Team Knight Rider or the Knight Ride...

Knight Industries Two Thousand, For short I call you KITT You're twentyplus years old now, Rusty and not worth spit. Your dashboard's blown its bulbs, Your armored shell is crumbling, Your turbo boost is busted, And your voice box is mumbling. Your T-top panels have yellowed, Your tires' threads are...

I think a new KITT should be a completely original design, and not based closely on any existing model of car. And it should be black. And it should look nothing like the Knight 4000.

I thought the saddest episode was "One Gassy Knight," when Michael ate six bean burritos at the beginning of the episode, and KITT's gas tank was topped off with low-test fuel. The sounds those two made brought me to tears.

I actually own a copy of the book, I read it cover to cover, and I enjoyed it very much. I just forgot that part about those panels on the car. D'oh! I still think their "droopiness" detracts in a big way from the design of the car, and that a totally smooth front end -- meaning sans light...

KITT Design Pet Peeves?

KITT is my favorite TV car. Period. If I were to legally come into the possession of a huge stash of cash, one of the first things I'd do is buy a KITT replica. Having said that, are there aspects of KITT's design that you don't like? I already started a thread on buttons and displays that make no s...

Was watching said episode the other day and noticed Karr`s 2 tone colour.I`d always thought he was 2 toned all the way through right from the start.Wonder why they started Karr off as same colour as Kitt then changed it. There is a scene that does not air in syndication that KARR in KITT vs KARR as...

I've often thought that the notion of placing key functions on the Gull Wing was the best choice of all. I agree 100%! I think the steering "wheel" should have had the following controls: Turbo Boost -- A button for the right hand, and a duplicate for the left hand. "Mode" Selec...

I was six when Knight Rider debuted. (Yes, the age listed in my profile is slightly exaggerated.) I remember the show pretty well. The one shot that I remember most is from the series premiere, the shot in which Michael Long is shot while standing in front of his Trans Am. That was pretty scary for ...

Also, button-pressing still remains one of the most efficient user-interfaces ever developed. With an AI system operating behind the scenes of a button, it can be better than providing verbal commands. Buttons are great interfaces... for certain types of functions, mainly those that can simply be s...

I agree that SPM and convertible modes were the "jump-the-shark" moment for Knight Rider . I thought the convertible mode was totally pointless, considering that KITT is already a T-top with automagically disappearing T-top panels. On the other hand, the ejection seats would be safer to op...

Yeah, that's Kenner's Knight Rider Knight 2000 Voice Car. A horribly scratched-up one, at that. The windshield is even somewhat deformed, although it isn't obvious in the photos. I just "airbrushed" the scanner light, and painted out the ridiculous "KNIGHT 2000" markings on the s...

Super Pursuit Mode and Rear Window (not Hitchcock!)

Since there seem to be so few good photos or screen captures of KITT in super pursuit mode, I've never been able to figure out what happens to the rear window when KITT changes from cruise mode to super pursuit mode. The spoiler rises up several inches, but the hatch also seems to open with some fra...

KITT is awesome, but there are some buttons and displays that make little sense. I'll name some. Feel free to join in, and/or to explain why these buttons and displays might actually make sense. Hmm, I was thinking that Turbo Boost was going to be a more popular answer.... The next time you go driving, especially in an urban or suburban area, take a look at your surr...
