Re: What Glen Larson thought of TKR and KR08

As far as I could tell, the extent of the CGI in TKR was the graphics of the vehicles on screen rotating around whenever they spoke, the missiles/lasers/EMP pulses the vehicles periodically fired, and parts of the building collapsing in the final episode (which also featured questionable blue screen...

Re: What Glen Larson thought of TKR and KR08

I don't agree with his words. First off, and this is purely just a minor correction to him, it was 5 people and 5 vehicles, not 6, in Team Knight Rider. Secondly, it wasn't a "disaster." If memory serves (and I've googled it and come up with nothing to see what the actual ratings were duri...

Re: Small Pursuit Mode question

I'm pretty certain that Pursuit just allowed KITT to have a higher top speed. As for SPM and the G forces Michael or any other occupant would have to endure going through turns rapidly, I think that's partially what the Passive Laser Restraint System was for, and I'm sure there was other unmentioned...

Re: Knight Rider 2000 remastered (BluRay)

I know this is an old thread, but I'm curious if anyone knows what ever became of taoworm's efforts? Or if anyone else might have access to an actual film copy of KR2000 that could be scanned in at HD resolution? I'm getting pretty good at video editing and this would be a fun project to tackle if t...

Re: Fast & Furious Franchise Director Justin Lin's Knight Rider Web Series Reboot

Guys, the original news announcing this only came out a little less than 5 months ago. Chill out and don't jump to conclusions that just because there hasn't been any more updates automatically means it has been canned. Announcements in Hollywood are made all the time months or even years before som...

Re: Knight Rider Heroes...any news?

I honestly don't think Knight Rider Heroes is anything more than an extremely elaborate advert to buy the replica jacket. If there is more to it, they've been dragging their heels for a very long time now without a whisper of what else it could be. It actually angers me that they got all of the fans...

Re: MBS question

Jup, I was just re-reading the portion of the novelization of Knight of the Phoenix where Devon hits KITT with the hammer and in the book, they say that when it struck the surface of the car, the hammer lands with a thump, not a clang, and it recoils so much that it flies out of Devon's hands and la...

Re: Knight Rider season 5

The two Knight Rider novels I'm working on touch on so many of the points others have raised above. The first novel, which is still untitled, is set in 1990 and will answer the question of what specifically drove Michael to leave FLAG. The second novel, Knight Rider Generations, is set in the presen...

Re: MBS question

The yellow scanner can be easily explained from probably a combo of the saltwater and the fact that red colors fade to yellow when exposed to sunlight for long periods of time. KARR himself was covered under a mound of sand but we know John didn't have to do much scooping to expose the rest of the s...

Re: MBS question

I think it's pretty safe to say the MBS was incredibly tough but of course it wasn't indestructible. We know that it's a chemical compound that is typically sprayed onto a surface and that once it bonds to that, only extreme heat, or a chemical that is formulated to break those molecular bonds apart...

Adobe VoCo = KITT's voice forever?

I was really intrigued about Adobe demoing their new voice-editing software recently, as detailed at http://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2016/11/adobe-voco-photoshop-for-audio-speech-editing/ Particularly, my mind jumped immediately into thinking "Hey, this could be a way to preserve ...

Re: Fast & Furious Franchise Director Justin Lin's Knight Rider Web Series Reboot

I'm optimistic that Justin Lin will learn from the previous mistakes that previous Knight Rider continuations have gone through. But as flawed as all of them were, they all did have something to enjoy about them too. I was nervous about him helming Star Trek Beyond but it turned out to be a really g...

Re: Fast & Furious Franchise Director Justin Lin's Knight Rider Web Series Reboot

Also, funny how just several weeks back there were a bunch of people here on the board lamenting how Knight Rider was "dead" and then this comes along. This is why I have never given (and will never give) up the faith that no matter what, Knight Rider will always make a comeback in some fo...

Re: Fast & Furious Franchise Director Justin Lin's Knight Rider Web Series Reboot

I think there are several things we can safely assume about this new incarnation: 1) It will almost certainly be a reboot in the truest sense of the word. Probably will be called Knight Rider in name, will feature characters named KITT, Michael, Devon, Bonnie, etc, but I agree with jup, it will prob...

Nice score, Mechanicjay! That car was also my first (or one of my very first) KITT cars I ever got as a kid, and mine also is just the car itself, nothing else from the Turbo Booster set. Mine came from a family friend's son, who gave it to me.

Re: New Knight Rider Board Game

Knight Racer, that recreation of the board game box art is impressive! Thanks for the offer to help! Jup, I like your line of thinking about a modern take on the game. The Battlestar Galactica game was interesting because it comprised of a board with the Galactica drawn out in the center of it and h...

New Knight Rider Board Game

Recently I sat down and played the Battlestar Galactica Board Game ( https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/37111/battlestar-galactica )with my wife and a couple of friends and had an absolute blast. I was surprised how much playing the game felt like you were experiencing an episode of the show. I'm k...

Re: SOUTHERN KNIGHTS ATLANTA 2017. 35th Anniversary Celebration!

As another Pacific Northwest resident, I really wanted to be there this year (and years past too) but for me, it came down to the cost of travel. I'm hoping our finances will be in a spot next year to allow me (and hopefully my wife and son) to attend. I keep hoping that someone will bring a replica...

Re: Knight 4000 vs Knight 3000

I think the Knight 4000's dash is undoubtedly more futuristic looking but I have to say that I really loved the Knight 3000's voice orb. Now if you were to combine the two and have the voice orb with all of those giant LCD panels built-in to the dash (or like the original Knight 3000 dash from the p...

Re: William Daniels interview with Navtones

I think William (Bill) Daniels has pretty much retired from acting overall in the last decade or so, with only a few small bit parts here and there. So even had the producers wanted him to come back and do the voice of KITT in 2008, I'm not sure he would have been really interested in it. Not to men...

Hi everyone! I just made a new post over on the Facebook page (and also there's a link on the Twitter account) detailing the new cast of characters. Re: Knight Rider 2000 Edited Version

Interesting fan edit. I liked some of the changes he made, but others (like cutting Devon's death and any reference to it afterwards) were not only needless, they detracted from the overall point of the movie. Devon's death, while shocking to so many fans, served to do several things. 1) It elevated...
