Re: If kitt would've been a Datsun ?

There are certain vehicles that shall forever hold their sleek, desirable looks. The Trans-Am shall forever remain on that list. Datsun reminds me of a particular kind of look...as in being basic transportation. As in something you'd take to work or the grocery store...of a by-gone era. Not the kind...

Or go to e-bay. With these button batteries, I never go to a brick and mortar store, anymore. (Unless having them today is necessary.)

Re: What sort of computer is in KITT?

My take on how those games existed inside of KITT was always more of a direct answer. (Especially for the 1980's.) They simply installed the real console hardware under the dash and wired up the RF into Kitt's circuits to be fed into the monitor. It must have been somewhat hard to swap games, though...

That is really amazing. Almost like a mirror.

No wonder the show had a few issues, keeping the cars from reflecting things that should not be seen. (Like camera rigs and crew members.)

Who would have thought this? RL putting a new value to KITT's scanner light.

MPPpaKJ0u1o Not only is this research project using Hollywood's age old illusion of a seat costume to remove the driver from sight trick, but look at that gigantic light at the top of the windshield and how it's operating. According to this video, this project is dreaming of turning light motions i...

Re: Is KITT hard to drive?

Why didn't Michael ever get pulled over in the show for all those things? Kitt ran the scanner light on roadways all the time, always had the blackout visible, etc. lol Maybe some of these car laws are gray and don't get enforced most of the time... like technicalities. That's a simple one. In tele...

Re: Is KITT hard to drive?

From a show perspective, I would say that if there are any scenes where one spots the driver using belts, it would qualify as one of those many flaws. (Like when 'Thing' helps out on opening/closing the driver door.) After all, the show used "Laser Restraints" as a tech word to mean 'Buckl...

Re: Is KITT hard to drive?

I am also reminded of the missing rear view mirror, which I have heard is required. I am presuming that no matter how many modifications are made, nobody goes around and removes the factory standard seat belts. Luckily, the vehicle never had airbags to begin with. So, no issues, there. Am reminded o...

Also not sure where the video took place at. As I thought that many of the modifications were street illegal ...at least state side. That Gull Wing is so impressive to see. Don't think that I'd like to drive with one, though. As the video pointed out, one's hands just want to grip at spots that simp...

Re: Is KITT hard to drive?

I've read that Trans-Ams are hard cars to get in and out of to begin with. But, that video is a real eye opener.

Really surprised the dash wasn't more interactive...to the operations of the car. (Like MPH should have been a priority.)

It truly is becoming an amazing time, all right. After all, the world is virtually at all our fingertips. (For good and bad.) Yes. Re: Another glimpse into the reality side of AI and machines.

To be honest, 'she' was guided into saying that, KITTfan. Sounded like some kind of 'trick' into making you think the AI mildly understands what it is saying. When it's a combination of 'tricks' and 'parroting'. KARR does make a great example towards things to think about with the coming of AI's. Af...

Re: Another glimpse into the reality side of AI and machines.

I would highly agree that AI needs to be tiptoed into. Many safety factors must be endlessly applied. No company involved in this should just rush out a product over matters of making money or thinking of greed. There is as much fantastic promise in AI as there are dangers. And probably the number o...

Re: Another glimpse into the reality side of AI and machines.

One of the problems I can see with AI's judging us would probably come from something even deeper then watching their ancestors getting kicked around by a few primitive Humans in those videos. I do fear that it's just too Human to assign ranks to those around us. Sci-Fi tends to hint that the best A...

Another glimpse into the reality side of AI and machines.

AO4In7d6X-c It's amazing what robotics are doing, these days. And I could definitely see a reboot of Knight Rider being a kind of show case to introducing the world in general to the potential realities of such machines. What a thought. In the 1980's, they were using real machines and Hollywood mag...

Eeppp...Assasinge. That link needed a NSFW tag pasted upon it.

While the article was safe enough, the site obviously caters to the adult side of life with nude women all posing and a slightly censored naked guy. (I suspect the page rotates such click bait, though.)
