Re: Aoshima KITT and KARR

Curious, does the 1/43 scale KITT/KARR made by Aoshima dashboard lights up as well like the Diamond Select 1/18 KITT?

Re: K.I.T.T. Dashboard/Voice Modulator Blunders

I suspect it is because you cannot control a gullwing wheel as well as you can with a round one. I best a roundone can be turned and controlled far more safely than a Gullwing. :dash: 2-screen fan! I agree. While the gullwing steering wheel may look cool and futuristic, it doesn't seem so safe to d...

Re: K.I.T.T. Dashboard/Voice Modulator Blunders

Curious, I've heard that the gullwing steering wheel is not street legal for owners of KITT replicas within the US. Why is this the case? Is it less secured for driving as oppose to a rounded steering wheel? Perhaps this would explain why the stuntmen used a rounded steering for the stunts?

Gull-Wing Steering Wheel Illegal?

For years, I've dreamed about owning my very own KITT and with the popular KITT conversions out there, I'm seriously considering it. However, I've heard that things like the red scanner and the gull-wing steering are illegal in most states and countries. I know that the scanner is illegal because it...

Also with the advent of CGI they have the potential to be able to make KITT perform virtually and ability. Surely one of the best uses for CGI is seen in The Hulk movie in the 'change' sequences. I am not saying KITT should be able to go to warp factor 10, but I think they can improve on the visual...

I live in L.A. and yes, we have traffic jams. And there were lots of traffic jams in the 80s when KITT was turbo boosting all over the place. There are still plenty of times when I'm driving in and around the city at 65 mph. (I never go past the speed limit of course :) ) Your logic just doesn't ma...

Are you one of the movie bosses who also wanted KITT not to talk? :( KITT has to turbo boost! It got them out of many situations and is a necessary function of KITT. To take that away would just limit his capabilities and would be a step backwards. If you want, they could just not use it as much, b...

Suggestions for a new KITT

I understand that there's a Knight Rider motion picture in the works. If that is the case, I strongly think that a new KITT should be used. Since Pontiac is no longer making the Firebird, I'm thinking that either the Acura NSX or the 2006 Corvette should be the new KITT. The new dashboard should be ...

As far as turbo boosts go, that was a pretty small jump. It may simply have been that the reinforced shocks were enough to handle it since the jump wasn't very high. Yes, exactly. That particular jump was indeed a small one. It just goes to show you that no car in the world can drive away fully int...

Question on Knight Rider episode: Circus Knight

In the episode entitled, "Circus Knight" there is a scene where Michael and KITT were chasing a jeep equipped with a flamethrower. They managed to disabled it by turbo boosting over it and shattering it to pieces. The moment KITT landed on all fours, the front fender didn't even scratched ...

[quote="themarvelous3"]rumor has it that most cars of the future will have them for safety reasons; smacking head/face into them in accidents/easier viewing of instrument panels. but just rumor for now. [quote] Speaking of which, here are some links regarding futuristic concept cars equipp...

Re: Why is the gull-wing steering wheel illegal?

Whenever it came to making a complete left or right turn, I instinctively tried to grab onto the gull-wing steering as if it were a circular one. As a result, I nearly lost control... Why is it considered illegal? I think you answered your own question.. they are less safe than full-circle wheels. ...

Why is the gull-wing steering wheel illegal?

Several years ago, I read in my local newspaper about an article that specifically stated that it is illegal to have any red or blue lights installed in front of your car. The article also stated that red lights should only be located behind the vehicle. The reason is because it confuses other drive...

(And sorry to be so off topic, but Whitestar, I knew a whitestar from a guy in a Bridge Commander clan [FC] (Federation Command). I'm just curious if this is the same guy. If you are, this is SapphireWeapon from that clan.) Sorry, no I'm not the same guy from that clan, but it's a pleasure to meet ...

A Question On The Turbo Boost System

Hi everyone! :) It's my first time posting and I'm delighted to be chatting with other fellow Knight Rider fans like myself. I remember watching the show when it first came on in 1982 and after the premiere aired I was hooked. During that time, I always wished I could meet KITT and talk with him a b...
