How did KITT do that?

Ok, I was watching Diamonds aren't a Girls Best Friend and noticed something. When Michael has to hide in the closet in a guys office, 2 people come in from the party. The man and lady go and sit on the couch. Michael asks KITT to do something to make them go away. Well he turns on a couple of lights, makes a doornob turn and then makes a dragon like figurine move. I can under stand the turning on the lights and even making the doornob turn as KITT often unlocked doors for Michael. The thing I don't understand him doing is moving that figurine. How in the world can KITT move a object like that? I was just curious as to what your thoughts would be. Even though it is a little far fetched it is still a cute scene.

how can kitt turbo boost? how can kitt plow through a cement wall unharmed? how can kitt tint his windows to prevent someone from looking in? how could kitt drive through lava? how can kitt drive on water? how can kitt crack a safe and open mechanical locks?
i could go on but the simple answer is that knight rider was a science fictional tv show. almost every thing kitt did back then wasn't possible in that day and age or even today.
don't get me wrong, i love knight rider but i don't know why some of you beat yourselves up trying to figure things like this out. kitt nor the show were real.

Real world explanations aside, it can be fun pondering in-universe explanations for how KITT could do what he did.
Now, if KITT had a set of abilities that infrequently changed, that would be one thing - and more believable. But, unfortunately, it seemed KITT always convienently developed abilities that just happened to be needed in a specific episode.
I mean, the car just wound up being crammed with so much stuff, it stretched credibility to the point that it often pulled you out of the believability of the fiction, if that makes any sense.
It would be interesting to see what kind of things KITT would be outfitted with with today's tech. The advancements and changes in computer tech alone - Internet, cell phones, etc - is just mind boggling.

That's not quite what I was implying.

Most things that KITT does seem believable to me. Just moving a object like a figurine baffled me. Just wondered if there was something I missed about KITT's functions.

In the book version of Goliath, it is explained. April states that she had upgraded Kitt with an ultrasonic modulator and with that, Kitt can control objects directly or via the comlink. The bad thing is that after a few minutes, the ultrasonic waves shatter the objects, so it is higly unwise to use the function for a long time...

Knight Rider is science fiction, but it didn't take place in some distant future, like Star Trek. And, everything KITT could do was supposed to be the result of technology (technology within the Knight Rider universe, of course), not magic. So it's understandable to want at least a semi-logical explanation of his abilities. And the show certainly did challange our suspension of disbelief on occasion! But the ultrasonic modulator explanation seems as good as any. Though I would think such a device would be more likely to shatter an object before moving it much.

Thanks. That's the answer I was looking for.

In Star trek all of the science was designed by scientists
so they belive the technology is possible if it is too far fetched its not included.
most of Kitts Technology is now possible ie all the computer functions self driving (IN germany they developed a system that cars drive them selfs take over the speed if you get to close to a car infront) ok the concept is there. The Online line status were even though kitt was in the middle of know were he could comunicate via video and even log into flags computers and bring up info on subjects yes all this is possible.
As for manipulating objects i supose if a strong enough magnet is in the wrist watch he could mabe pull a key towards him. Jamming steering locks and stalling engines science fiction.
The car manouvers ie turbo boost is possible if you wanna try and build a car to do that stunt but it wouldnt look anything like kitt.
Jumping from one block of apartments to another and landing in teh correct living room ? again Fantasy not even science fiction lol.
best not to ruin our childhood pasts we know now as adults what is what other wise we wouldnt be here talking about it.
i have found memorys.
OK here is the big one for all you Knight rider fans who drive a car
how many have got in there car and called it buddy LOL

Yeah I know somethings can be done and other things can't as far as reality goes with KITT. I wasn't really looking for that kind of responce. I just wondered if there was a funtion I missed with him moving that figurine. HungarianKnight gave me the answer I was looking for.

I know next time to be a little more specific.
As far as calling my car buddy, no I never have. I do talk to my car though...hehe.
