Favourite pop/rock tunes in KR

The 80's were a good time for pop, since the songs played then stick on for a long time. Knight Rider featured several good ones such as Maniac (White Line Warriors) and Rebel Yell (Dead of Knight), to name a few. What are your favourite pop/rock tunes in KR?

Owner of a Lonely Heart by Yes is my favorite.

I agree with that one, but the song "Let It Be Me" is also a favorite of mine, plus the song, "I'll Be Watching You" as well....

"Every Breath You Take" is a great one, as is "Rebel Yell," even though that was a cover.

I too like the Owner of the Lonely Heart by Yes, also Laura Branigan's Self Control, Cruel Summer by Bananarama, Juice Newton's Heart of the Night, Donna Summer's Hard for the Money, etc. too many to list ;)

Cruel Summer by Bananarama (I have their CD with that on it, in fact ;) ) And that Rolling Stones tune that I keep forgetting the title of that sounds rather witchy. :)

I'm fond of two covers: The Eagles' 'Take It Easy' and Men at Work's 'Land Down Under'.

"Land Down Under" definitely rocks! Anytime I watch The Topaz Connection I turn it up really loud. I've always liked that song. :D

The Eagles of course! Have their CD right here... Pity KITT never played Hotel California.

I have to say the tune, I don't know who did it, that goes 'I got nothing to be ashamed of... Love's been a little bit hard on me...' is catchy. I keep catching myself singing it at inopportune moments just from hearing it on KR.

I dont know eighties songs and songs in KRider episodes very well but one artist i'm familiar with is Billy Idol. Rebell yell's a good song by him, i must agree. He is an eighties artist, isn't he? (just making sure lol)

Billy Idol is that artist who did "White Wedding"- one of the dumbest songs I have ever heard, but Rebel Yell is far better.

Ever since I watched the episode 'Final Justice' on 'MST3K', that song always makes be think of this sketch, even when it popped up on 'KR'.
How does the "Owner of a lonely heart" compare to, say, the "Owner of a broken gas fireplace?" Or for that matter, to the "Owner of a perfectly functional cheese slicer?" As the "Owner of a lonely heart" how do I stack up against the "Owner of a pencil?" What about the "Owner of a parcel of land in Montana" versus the "Owner of a pie?"
I also liked the 'Rebel Yell' cover. Pretty cool.

The montage in the pilot where after Michael tells Kitt to shut up while he drives to silicon Valley is one of my favorite scenes of all-time in KR. Taking it easy and Carolina on my mind play during this and it's pretty killer

Did they ever play Bonnie Tyler, Total Eclipse of the Heart whislt driving, or am I thinking of another tv show? I'm sure I heard it on KR first, but maybe she wrote it years later..

It's called "It's just a shot away" by the Rolling Stones, yes that's one of my favorite ones too. It's from Goliath and Goliath Returns

I think they used it in other episodes too, I'm not sure. Maybe you're right. It's a cool song though. :)

BTW, it's actually called "Gime Shelter" but "It's just a shot away" is in the chorus of it. I looked up that on Google and "Rolling Stones" to find that out. Too bad it's not on iTunes. :(

Oh yes....totally forgot about "Owner of a lonely heart" by Yes. A few big hits such as "Careless Whispers" by George Michael and "Sweet Home in Alabama" by Lynyrd Skynyrd (exact name?), but are there any obscure artists who have been catapulted to fame by KR? Russ Ballard's "Voices" came on Miami Vice and made him famous.
