Just wondering if anyone was going. That is where they are building the KITT replica in two days, right? Anyone know which two days (the car show itself is three days)? Might see some of you there, but its gonna be waaaaay too hot to wear a black Knight Rider shirt, so I won't be all patriotic and you won't know that I'm there

I think the build off is all three days, but not positive.

I am one of the builders and we are heading down thursday
afternoon. I believe this is the build off times, or at least when they start.

Friday - 3:00pm – Rob Louisell Replica build, runs all weekend at GM Nationals

Saturday - 2:00pm – GM Nats/Louisell Demonstration

Sunday - may be the finish up day if not already completed on Saturday.

This was part of the intinerary posted on the foundations board.

I am sure that times will be from 3;00pm friday and on depending on
how long you wanna stay.

I will! I'm travelling up from VA, it's about a 2.5 hour drive, not too bad. I am in the process of building a 4th gen Knight-inspired Trans Am. Meeting Rob Louisell to pick up one of his Banshee-hybrid noses, and of course check out the build-off!

Thank you for the info, Knightdriver! I will be there Saturday night or Sunday. Hope I get to see it. Maybe I will drop by the Foundation event while I am near there. Or can't you get in without a ticket? I am easily confused, so please pardon the blond-ness.

Haha just got back from seeing Monty Python and the Holy Grail (for free!!!) at the Elks Theatre. It was a hoot, but no coconuts.

ANYWAY, I will definitely be there Sunday. It’s supposed to be 90 degrees! YUCK. My psychotic friends begged to come along, and they want to make identical Knight Rider shirts, so if you see three people who look like asylum out patients, it’s probably us! And I will of course ask for everybody’s autograph. You have been warned!

^ And I will keep my scanner peeled - I mean my eyes open - for you, TurbomanKnight! And knightdriver and everybody else who is going to be there. :D

^^ That didn't make much sense did it? Oh well...

^ Correction, he just changed his mind. Saturday evening is the new day. Wow my family is crazy!

Don't be too sore with your old man, Turboman. He has his reasons for not going, probably financial or for safety's sake. Besides, he did give you a bunch of cash last Christmas, right? Don't be too hard on him.

No he didnt. Everything I bought online I got cash from other people or my own money. The Turbo casts I bought christmas time was my own money. Same goes for my 1/18 scale KITT. This is something I told him since the event was announced. This is just another occasion of him being a *****. He knew exactly I wanted to see a KITT/KARR replica so bad. And then he does this. :x

Hey Turbo, don't worry man... I was fortunate enough to attend the GM Nationals myself, and here's a few snapshots of the event. It was quite a drive but traffic wasn't too bad. Got to meet Rob and I saw the dude that builds the really good scanners there, didn't really get a chance to talk to him. And let me tell you, it was 10 kinds of hot today too! And the lady at the gate was super mean, probably because of the heat.

Here's the main attraction:

Here's a couple of dash's Rob was selling:

View of the interior from the rear:

Here's Rob putting the finishing touches on my new 4th gen. front end, note sweet scanner shelf:

Rob again, with a guy from the Foundation (can't remember his name):

Another shot of the continuing work on KITT:

Rob is a real nice guy, we talked for a bit. He went on to tell me that at this point there's only one other 4th gen with a nose like this. I'll be the second. In the background of one of those pics is another nose like mine, but without the scanner shelf.

I was at the GM Nationals/Foundation event from 11 AM to 4 PM today. It was fantastic! We saw 3 KITT replicas and 1 KARR replica at the GM Nationals. We only saw 2 KITT replicas at the Foundation event. I got a few pictures; I will post them tomorrow when my “Knight Rider Groupie Friends” go home. A lot of people commented on our shirts, it was hilarious! And everybody was really, really nice.

My friends and I wanted to, but we were too shy to ask! However you could touch the cars and open doors/hoods, turn on dash lights, etc. if you asked nicely. And they would do practically anything else if you asked, like let you play with the scanner remote. It seemed to me that they wanted you to be 'hands on'. I was even told that the reaction my friends and I had to their KITT was why they build replicas. Pretty cool, huh?

All of this is more than I can say for most of the other car people there, who don’t want you touching their cars (unless you are naked, or so said the sign) and totally freak out when you get too close, unless they are right there wth you showing you stuff. But it was really great, even if we didn't get to sit in KITT. My dad is not really a car person and he loved it, so we are definately going next year if they have it again.
