Hey there,
I have decided I am going to sell my 1989 TA. I'm sure you've all seen it, (lots of replica work has gone into it so far).
The car runs great, is very reliable and is safe to drive.
Here are the details about the car:
-Black
-slightly over 200K miles (with a rebuilt top end and tune)
-Correct hood
-Frame is solid.
-no rust
-Heat and AC work great!
-T tops
-I have the correct spoiler (just not applied)
-Automatic. Rear end & Tranny solid and in great shape. Car shifts flawlessly and smoothly.
-Interior is restored tan.
-new struts on hatch and hood
-All gauges & lights in and outside the car are functional.
-Power Windows.
-305 V8
(current nose cut to display JC Scanner) temp of course until a replica nose can be placed.

-One piece Blackout
-PMD seats
-82 center console
-bought and waiting still for accurate -82 shift knob (goes with car)
-15" accurate rims and aluminum hubs (so I found out they were aluminum when I restored them)
-Pa speaker under hood and linked to aux wires in car from in dash CD player (detachable face)
-Title is free and clear
-fabricated triangle plate holder for motor rotating and "Knight" replica plate (legal plate is Washington State "82 KITT")
More images can be seen at:

I drive and clean him once a week (every Thursday to be exact) to keep him in condition and change the oil every 3K. He's garaged otherwise.
I bought the car about a year ago and the top end and tune was done then.
I am asking $8K min. (I've got a Honda I owe $13K on and need to pay it off)
As no one else wants to part with their car, neither do I, but school and money are preventing it's completion, and I want to enjoy it now.
Anyone interested can 'pm' me through the board.
Thanks.

No ones even remotely interested?

It's sad you have to give it up... for a Honda.

Totally.

But.. econmically, the gas is SOOOO much better in the Honda, and since I have school to pay for and my Honda still, it's to tight.

I can't even afford to really drive K.I.T.T. around much (the once a week is killing the pocket book in gas money).

I can sympathize, especially with the price of gas these days and typically the T/A engines were a bit hungry for gas.
Makes me glad I got one of the rarer 4-cyl. Pontiac 6000s (most sedans had V6 engines). I don't drive much so I get gas once every couple MONTHS and only pay around $20 - $25 (US) each fillup.

Only $8K!?!?! That is a STEAL in my opinion. Haha. Sorry I can't help you there, as everybody on KRO knows my pet snake made me poor

I thought about 10K, as I'd like to at least get close to paying off the near 13K on my Honda, but I did not want to be greedy or turn to many people off. As it is, I see very few bites.
I know I could probably get a great deal off some of the conversion (necessary parts) but I don't want him parted out by me.

And if he is in the future, I don't want to know.

Are the PMDs Powered?

Sorry, no.

but that means there is more room under the seats for electronic gadgets to be hidden.

And... you can drive it hidden like the stunt driver did.

Can I put your car on Lay Away? I was thinking like $20 a week?

Sorry dude. That would be like 5.5 years. By then I'd have my Honda paid off no matter what happens, and if I still have K.I.T.T. I won't be forced (I hope) to get rid of him for money.

Ehhhh... Are you sure? This is a 1989 Trans Am with over 200,000 miles for $8,000. And $10,000 is flat out laughable. I know there are debts to pay off, but that doesn't justify overpricing the vehicle to any potential buyers. I don't mean to sound rude but I have to be honest here... I think the price is a little absurd. This is why not too many people are interested. If the price was more along the lines of something reasonable, I'm sure there would be more people interested. It is a very nice car, but it is a gas guzzler, too.
I mean, I have a 1989 Grand Am SE with only 39,000 miles (great condition inside and out) and I would be lucky to get $1,000 for it if I ever sold it.

No worries. You're not rude. I figure I'd get more than $1K for it, but this is why I am posting for sale on Knight Forums, not in general public. I expected a low pay for someone who only wants it for the TA. But a K.R. fan would see the additional value in it. I based my $8K off of what other members said they would pay for it, and left it at that.

But I totally see your point.

I figured that's why you were offering it here, but I didn't want to blow up your spot.

WITH conversion parts (nose, dash electronics, etc.) it could be worth that much. But yes, fanatics are the way to go. Good luck to you.

You have a very pretty car.

Too many miles for this shopper, though.
*imagines the look on her dad's face if she got rid of her '92 Chevy for an '89 Pontiac with more miles*

Fantine, I got rid of an '83 Chevy S-10 with about 113,000 miles I think it was for Dryden who is an '87 and had 143,000+ when I got him.

And Dryden is in MUCH better shape than my truck EVER was!

If the car was driven a lot of long distance miles, those are the best and most sturdy of all. I don't look down on high mileage if the miles were mostly highway higher-speed miles which are best on the engine. I'd definitely pass on anything that was driven start-stop city at that many miles though.
thecolor: Are you the one that also did the KITT vox display for Ultra Hal Assistant? I linked to it in my Knight Rider Databank KITT AI Project page.

Yes, I developed that. I'm working on a braintoo, but that is a whole 'nother bit.

And as far as I know from the prior owner(s) it is mainly highway miles.
Thanks for the link.

It's nice to be able to provide something so fun for everyone!
If I can't keep my TA (K.I.T.T.) at lesat I can have the vox on my display in my Honda and be fully functional. I've got all those toys you mention under your AI section.
