I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what episode (if any perticular) the opening desert scene came from. I thought it was Goliath, but after watching them, it seems different.
Thanks.

The desert scene (that accompanies the credits, I'm guessing that's the one you mean?) is completely independent of the show. It doesn't appear in any Knight Rider story (although a couple of unused shots make it into "Short Notice", and the intro to "Knight Rider 2000").

It was filmed by a man named Wayne Fitzgerald, who worked for Universal Studios, and was chosen because it added a mysterious feel and presentation to the series, which is what the producers were looking for.

It was just a good-looking way to open each episode!

I always liked the opening credits with KITT driving through the desert.
It gives the viewer the feeling that Michael and KITT are on a very important mission...especially when KITT's in Super Pursuit Mode.

I love the opening desert credit sequence. It's a trademark of Knight Rider just as K.I.T.T.'s red scanner is, in my opinion. And I absolutely agree that it adds a mysterious feel to the show. It's not goofy, cheesy, or lame...just plain cool. Seeing KITT coming towards the screen from a distance makes the opening a little dramatic-feeling, too.

I don't think the series really captured this same mysterious feel until it reached Season 4. That's why I liked the final season so much despite the fact that it had its share of sub-par episodes; it had a darker, more serious tone that matched the opening better, I think.

I asked this question before, and I was told it was filmed in some desert out in Nevada where they put car comercials such as one of the old Cadillac commercials, there was also a pic of a man with a camera angling it in the desert.
