Missing scenes on Season 1 Box Set?

There is a guy on http://www.amazon.com that seems to think there are missing scenes on the Season 1 set. He put a review on Amazon and I countered his review with a review saying that he is mistaken, and inviting him to this forum to discuss it.

He says that he has original tapes from German TV, so is it possible that he knows something that we do not?

You gotta love what the guy, reviewing the 2nd season, said: "The subtitles proved a real time-saver: I turned `em on, then played each eppie at double-speed, and watched the entire second-season run in half the time!"

Look up Zagnorch.

In the pilot in Season 1 DVD set, KITT was supposed to have some kind of smoke coming from his engine at the end as he's taking Michael at the hospital? Where Michael asks what is wrong and KITT says "Exhaustion"? I also saw screen grabs of Devon and Michael coming out of KITT at the end when KITT's on the tow truck. None of this is on the Season One DVD Pilot. :( In fact, it goes from KITT taking Michael to the hospital then next scene is Michael talking to the woman (I forgot who she is) after he's patched up and ready to leave the hospital. Then the next scene he's talking to her at her home (outside) and her son is there, etc.

Why did they leave all that out of the Season 1 DVD set? I think the left out pieces would have been entertaining.

Um, you seem to have the scenes mixed up. After Michael talks to Maggie at the hospital, Devon and Michael are in KITT, being towed, and Devon, in the driver's seat says, "Only you could've dented this car." And they both get out of KITT to board the small jet. I just rewatched it to make sure it is there.

The scene where he's talking to Maggie at her home, and her son is there, is near the middle of the movie right after the demolition derby is complete.

As for the smoke and KITT saying, "Exhaustion", has anybody else heard of this?

Ya, it's in the novel I think.

That's a cut scene from the original script:
EXT. CAR - NIGHT

as it slowly drives off as the police stare after it.

EXT. HOSPITAL - NIGHT - ESTABLISHING - STOCK

CLOSE ON EMERGENCY ENTRANCE

as the car slowly pulls up to a stop, the horn honks and
the door opens to reveal Michael. Michael stirs and comes
to slightly.

MICHAEL
Where are we?

K.I.T.T.
Emergency hospital. They should be
able to take care of you.

MICHAEL
Thanks.

K.I.T.T.
While you're in there, see if they've
got room for me.

MICHAEL
What's your problem?

K.I.T.T.
Acute exhaustion.

He honks again as a couple of attendants come out, discover
Michael, load him in a gurney and rush him inside. There's a
beat, then the door closes and the car slowly moves out of
frame. Hold on emergency room doors as we:

FREEZE FRAME

FADE OUT

END OF ACT SIX
I can reassure everyone that all the episodes released on the Universal DVDs are UNCUT. (The only missing piece of footage I've noticed is one shot from the beginning of the Brother's Keeper teaser, where Michael shouts "Go!" The episodes remain as they were first screened, completely intact. No syndicuts.)

I just viewed the Pilot at the end again. I don't know how I missed the tow truck part. I think maybe it might have skipped when I saw it last and that was in Win98SE. Now I have WinXP Pro and things work better. :) At least this time around I did get to see it.

Poor KITT! :(
