Ok, I saw the "Knight and Knerd" episode today, and I have come to the conclusion that this "Arya Gross", who is credited with playing Elliott Sykes, is actually Tom Cruise working under a pseudonym. Does anyone here concur, or better yet, can you absolutely confirm or deny this?
One thing is certain, Arya Gross cannot possibly be someone's real name. Other than this KR credit, the name does not exist.

it's not uncommon for an actor/actress to be credited under different names. i couldn't find a link to this name either but i bet she does have a real name.

Arye Gross played the Knerd. He was later in the first few seasons of Ellen and has played small roles in many movies. He's one of those "oh yeah, I know that guy" actors. I've only seen him using that name.

Um, don't you think that you spelled the guy's name wrong, though?
His name is Arye Gross, not Arya Gross......
I don't think he's Tom Cruise in disguise at all.
I saw that episode today, too.

Yeah he was in a lot of 80s flicks. Wasn't he one of Anthony Michael Hall's geek buddies in sixteen candles?
I thought he played on Northern Exposure, but that was Rob Morrow.
I have seen him in a lot of stuff, however. Definately not Cruise.

Thank you Michael and Lyn!
Yes, the misspelling of the name is what had me. I looked up the episode name on the web to find the actor's name, and the site I found had the misspelling. I then searched on the misspelled name and found nothing but Knight Rider "Knight and Knerd" references, but several of them, so I assumed that was the only thing he had ever been in.
I am pleased to admit I was wrong.

He was in the 80s film Soul Man, which also starred C. Thomas Howell. They played college mates
