Knight Rider, The Ride

Do you think Universal Studios will eventually come out with a "Knight Rider Ride", similiar to the Back to the Future Ride, where they use an 8 passenger KITT simulator facing a giant screen. I believe they may one day create it, depending on the success of the upcoming Knight Rider Movie.

That would be beyond awesome.
At the various Paramount parks they have movie theater sized simulation (sometimes 3-D) rides that change theme from year to year...they were James Bond once...and now they have "the Italian Job" race track with Cooper Minis....
Anywhoo, I think that a Knight Rider ride would be wonderful.

Judging by your posts, you've got a vivid imagination, KNIGHT RAIDER. I think the only chance for there to ever be a ride would depend on the upcoming movie. If its a smash hit, Universal may just very well make a ride of it. If the movie never comes out however, I don't think there would be any chance for a ride. I think Universal would have done it years ago when Knight Rider was more fresh in the general public's minds.

What about putting a petition or summat on this site and getting people to sign it and send it to Universal Studios?
Just a off the cuff idea

Well, I had an idea a while back on a KR ride where KITT has become a Tour Vehicle for the Knight Industries, showing off the technological advances since the start of Knight Industries. However, KARR gets loose and you are stuck inside KITT as he tries to get the passengers to safety and battle KARR at the same time. I think that the best way to do it would be like the Spider-Man 3-D simulation ride, where the car can movie and there are certain spots on a trail that has a screen.

Disney's Epcot has a really cool ride called Test Track, where you sit in cars, that actually have tires and look similar to real vehicles, as they move along various tests like breaking and stability. Here's a link that shows you what it's like.

Anyway my Knight Rider The Ride idea was that the whole place is themed like the Foundation. You have been given an invitation to get a tour of the grounds and take a special ride in some of the new Knight Vehicles, which are differnet types of cars different with personallites and such. But as you're on your tour something horrible goes wrong. Somehow KARR escapes and is reeking havoc all over the place. Now you and your car have to team up with K.I.T.T to stop him before it's too late.
They could start off the ride like a normal tour, the car giving you a whole run down of FLAG, Knight Industries, and of course its own capabilites. Then at some point you hear a crash or something like that, the car tunes into securty frequence and finds out the KARR has escaped, and K.I.T.T needs help. That's when you take off. They could make it look like you're zooming through the Foundations estate, the dessert, or the city. I think the city would be the coolest. Well that's my idea.

Oh yea, I always thought of that, like 8 ppl can sit in KITT and all have the similar controls to fool around with and he has the scanner and while they drive for a "so-called mission" like destroy KARR or whatever, KITT talks to them and makes it interesting. Or even a roller coaster, with the beat and the wheels that go on the track can be similar to the Turbo Cast Bowling rims.

What about also including user interaction with the ride, like the "Men in Black: Alien Attack" ride? On that, passengers have a counter in front of them for their hits, which also includes a "little red button", that you are told not to hit. When I was on the ride, I was the first person to hit the red button when it was asked to do so.
So, with that in mind, maybe various people in the car would have control over certain functions, like Turbo Boost, Micro-Lock, Super Pursuit Mode, etc.

Well, IF a movie comes out there is one nice ride that can be right outside. It can be....no other than.....the...........KNIGHT RIDER COIN OPERATED CAR!!!

THAT WOULD TOTALLY ROCK BECAUSE IT'LL BE ALL RETRO AND SUCH.

LOL!

You know what's sad, I would actually be pushing little kids out of the way to ride on it too. Unfortunately most people wouldn't be able to ride in it due to size issues, but only being 5'1, it's no problem for me!

I was wondering, if they do build the Knight Rider ride, would it be located next to the Back to the Future Ride or will it be way at the bottom of the themepark, where all the props and sets are.

Last week I went to Florida. We drove down. So as we were coming back up to New York We decided to stop at South Of the Border in South Carolina. The last time I went there I saw a Coin Operated Kitt. What messed with me though is that it was painted over as a police car. It had the scanner and Trans AM Body. I wanted to take a picture but didnt have a camera. This time I had my phone with me. I took several pictures. I have to find a way to get them out of my phone though. I was going to ride it but I didnt have any change and there was too much People around.

I could picture both vehicles, KITT & KARR parked inside of a labratory style facility room as part of the ride display, next to the line area. Both cars could be talking to us,(people in line) about their features & capabilities. KARR would probably say something like, I am the Knight Automated Roving Robot, I am the prototype car of the future, the first in a bold new experiment. What you see parked next to me is an inferior model, a pale copy of the original. KITT would then tell KARR, I heard that and you haven't seen anything yet, or I didn't know you even cared.

What would be very funny if they occasionally get into arguments with one another, KARR calling KITT the "production line model" and vice versa.
As for the location, they would most likely take down an older ride that and replace it with the new one. For example, "The Alfred Hitchcock Experience" (one of my favorites, it was) was replaced with "Shrek 3-D" (ick!). The old "Ghostbusters" show was replaced with "Twister: Ride It Out". Or, if they did make a new building, they'd have to build it past the "Barney the Dinosaur" area of the park (ick! again)

They actually got rid of King Kong too and replaced it with the Mummy Revenge, or something along those lines. It's an indoor roller coaster and looks pretty cool.

*Gets funny thought of K.I.T.T running over Barney.* Let's add that in the ride.

If there is to be a Knight Rider Ride, It would probably resemble the mission of the Back to the Future Ride, where in order to stop Biff, the 8 passenger Delorean had to bump the time machine in order to send it back to the lab. In the Knight Rider version, KITT would have to fire a laser at KARR's scanner in order to immobilize him, like the way he attempted to do in "Trust Doesn't Rust".

Well I DO have a photo of me in a coin operated KITT. it says 'the fantastic car' on the back for some unknown reason. But it had the scanner on the front and every button played a different KITT sound effect, also notice the primitive gullwing 'wheel' lol. this was taken around about 1986 in Salou, Spain. (sorry about the quality, but it has been buried in my attic for 17 years)

Awww, what a cute picture!
Gosh, I miss the 80's. I still think they were a fun decade to be a kid in.
