Dukes of Hazzard Marathon: Review

Well since Knight Rider is not on TV anymore, the Dukes of Hazzard marathon on CMT was a nice treat for the rainy weekend. The marathon featured great episodes from the first season, including the pilot. The stunt driving on the vehicles of course was partially performed by Hollwood stunt coordinator and driver Jack Gill, who of course did many of the jumps for KITT in Knight Rider. The stunts in the Dukes of HAzzard had som SKIING as well as JUMPING (another Knight Rider favorite). Here's 2 interesting tid bits that I would like some to PLEASE VERIFY.

1) During the first episode Cooter drove a red Ford Torino with a peculiar white strip down the side, a Starsky and Hutch Ford Torino! LOL, I guess they were so underbudget they had to use a car from another show (not even a new paint job)!

2) One episode hit too close to Knight Rider home. This episode, from what I could make out had the Duke boys making the General Lee run on moonshine (ahem! Give me Liberty... or Give me Death???).

All in all I enjoyed the marathon. Since Knight Rider is obviously the best car on TV, but it's nice to see that we have a least another car show to take it's place while it's in the evil clutches of the Sci-Fi Channel vault (featuring a 69 charger with a 440 and 4b carb doesn't hurt).

The Dukes of Hazzard will be be airing weekdays at 7:00 PM on CMT.

P.S. Does anybody notice that good ole Neil never really gave us his take on The Duke of Hazzard? Come on Neil, what do you think of Knight Rider's "rival" show?

The late 70's TV series BJ & the Bear also featured an episode wherein they filled up the Kenworth Aerodyne (BJ's big rig semi) with moonshine. And this happened way before Knight Rider and Dukes of Hazzard.
