Someone at work told me that last night on VH1 she saw one of their countdown shows and they named David Hasselhoff the most "Cheestastic" TV star of all time. Um, hooray?
It will be repeated ad nauseum, so there are plenty of chances to catch it:

Maybe I'm a little biased because I'm a David Hasselhoff fan, but I don't agree with VH1. Literally every time I've watched this network recently, they are in the middle of another countless meaningless countdown. Most awesomely bad song, best red carpet moment, etc. There are so many of these countdowns and they are showed so often that there is absolutely no sense of a climax for any of them, not to mention that nobody really cares what number one ever is. And if you happen to miss it, it usually plays again the same day. I don't even know which countdown it is half the time until the commercial. VH1 should probably go back to playing out their "I Love the '80s/'70s/'90s" every hour of every day for months at a time. OK I'm done ranting now.

I think Ryan Seacrest tops that list, hands down!
He's far cheesier than David Hasselhoff!!!!!!!
Same goes for a certain spoiled brat with the initials P.H.---and I'm not referring to Pamela Bach, either!
Anyway, I'm a fan of David Hasselhoff, and even if he's had some mildly cheesy moments, I wouldn't say he's the cheesiest celeb of all time, though.....

Oh, don't even get me started on MTV! Come on now...you simply cannot compete with masterpieces like Boiling Point, Laguna Beach (I call that PORSCHE [Proof Of Rich Spoiled Children Having Everything]), or My Super Sweet 16! Personally, I'd rather watch the countdowns!

It's only a matter of time until there is VH1-2 where they will play music again. No wonder internet based downloading is so popular, they don't give people what they want anymore. Sureal Life 4? Please.
And Hasselhoff is cheezy, sure. But more than Seacrest? PLEASE!
neps out.

Here's the clip from VH1:

It's a little risque at times, but mostly good-natured.

Well, DH's acting might have a distinctly sharp cheddar flavor, but I have to give MK a little credit for having more brains than some have said. It was he in TDR that figured out how to defeat KARR, when neither Devon, KITT nor Bonnie had a better solution. In Give Me Liberty, he remained on the case even after Devon thought it was over, and besides that, Wilton Knight obviously saw something special in Michael from the beginning. I agree that MK was hokey much of the time, and the realism of certain fight scenes leaves a bit to be desired, but I put forth now the notion that no one else paired with KITT would have made KR such a success. I believe it was KITT who projected odds of 1000:1 against him finding a more compatible, or you could say, worthy partner.

I have to agree with my wife on this one, she doesn't like Knight Rider(at least she won't admit it but watches it when it's on

) but she said David was chessy star, but not in Knight Rider, that happened when he went on Baywatch. David was smooth, cool, and likeable on Knight Rider, Baywatch was just chessy and then his singing put him #1, if you notice, they never once mentioned Knight Rider and showed 1 picture from that show, everything else was Baywatch. So yes he is the chessiest star, but not when it comes to Knight Rider, no one else could have done that show except him. Besides, Richard Simmons(#2) should have gotten the top spot.

Well let's just hope that David never ends up on The Surreal Life 5! THEN I will admit there's a cheese factor.

Somehow, let's not even think of D. Hasselhoff doing that kind of thing, OK? Too much exceedingly tacky reality TV s--- going on as it is!

Hasslehoff's acting style worked in Knight Rider, David Hasslehoff and William Daniels, Made a great team
There may have been a slight cheese factor?, But it's what helped to hold the show together, A good mix of semi-seriousness and total lightheartedness.
Baywatch, On the other hand, Was just total rubbish, Hasslehoff, Wasn't horrible, But he wasn't that good in it either.
In my opinion, It's the singing that gives him the number one spot, He's proud of it, But it's not exactly top ten material, By any stretch of imagination.

I agree, it's probably his music career that gave him that. That's...kinda cheesy...and Baywatch wasn't all that good.
His acting as Michael Knight was very good, Garthe is a slightly different matter, but that was part of the charm

Hasselhoff's acting in Baywatch can only be as good as the material he's given to work with. Given the entire premise and cheese-factor of that show, I thought his acting was fine. He may have had more to do with the show than simply acting, but as with Knight Rider, how seriously can you take a show about sexy lifeguards on a beach as you can a talking car? As Michael Knight, I thought he was excellent. His confidence in believing he could make the show a success comes through in his acting, in my opinion.

Did the creators of that specia for VH1 eat too many cheeseburgers or eat too many Swiss cheese slices like mice before putting that special together?
Just curious.....

I think we need to declare a new champ of cheesetastic TV stardom: a blase socialite with the last name Hilton who's sure making D. Hasselhoff look less and less cheesy all the time, and who currently stars on a reality TV show. Need I say more?

Would that be Paris Hilton? Yep they don't really get any cheesier, I would definitely watch a David Hasselhoff movie over a Paris Hilton TV series. The sad thing is, Paris has lots of fans, mostly young teenage brats who look upon her as a goddess of sorts, enabling her reality series to soar in the ratings.

It's amazing that you could be anybody and stand for virtually anything, or nothing at all, and no matter what, you will have a fan base. Paris Hilton does nothing, and is basically just the case of someone lucky being born into royalty. Apparently this wasn't good enough for her and somewhere along the line she decided she needed attention, therefore from being a celebrity wannabe, she's actually become a "celebrity." I could go on and on but I'll stop here.

This is going to sound strange, but I don't consider Paris Hilton to be cheesey. Annoying, but not cheesey. To me, "cheesey" implies a certain amount of like-ability. When people talk about a cheesey movie or TV show, they generally smile or have some sort of fond memory of it. In that sense, David Hasselhoff does fit the title. Cheesey might not be a great compliment, but at least on some levels I don't think it's too bad of an insult either.

TOTALLY AGREE WITH THAT! David Hasselhoff is not a cheezy actor, I think he is a great actor. He does emotions so well, plus he is sooooo good looking!!!! (Ok I think so) Id have to say he plays every part hes ever done very believable. I think he was AWESOM in Knight Rider, and good in other movies/shows...as well.
His singing??? That might be cheesy because I dont think his voice is as good as other singers, but he tries hard and does good on stage I think.-Carmen

One thing about Paris Hilton...she does have the tenacity and resilience to succeed. She doesn't let setbacks ruin her life. No doubt that she has the "it" or X-factor. Who else on this planet can tame an x-rated scandal video and get away with it? Damn that girl has what it takes.
Note: I've watched her x-rated video...it really is her. Any normal person would crumble if ever that kind of footage leaks out but not Paris. She really knows how to handle pressure and turn it to her advantage.

David Hasselhoff is not as cheesy as Paris Hilton. That girl is so spoiled and selfish! I could be that pretty too if I was that rich and could do anything I wanted with the money. The world is just her play toy. At least David started out and worked his way up. Just my take on it. Too bad Paris couldnt give me some money, oh wait, does she give anyone anything? Just my own opinion

Thanks for letting me share. (Plus Ive liked David Hasselhoff since I was 10 and I could care about Paris!!!!

I know someone in this thread had to mention it.
