Knight Rider Film (download here)

A mate of mine put together a Knight Rider "episode" as part of his uni course, where he put himself in with David Hasselhoff, plenty of bad hair styles and KITT. :)

I thought it was well done as a closet Knight Rider fan myself, so decided to host it for him for others to see. It's a 166Mb download though, as the film lasts for 30 minutes. You need the drivers from http://www.divx.com and http://www.3ivx.com

You need the proper codecs to playback the video. Check out this codec package here:

Really hope to see this become a series =) Could be quite funny!!

LOVED this movie! Nice work on this! :) Good thing I just got DSL or I'd never had been able to download it.

Loved K.I.T.T. being grey too. And the electronic voice laugh was hilarious! :)

If I'm not mistaken, the voice they use is actually the Bonzi Buddy right?

Sounds very much like Dr. SBaitso to me, the voice that comes with the old 16-bit SoundBlaster sound cards. I used to have one with a Creative Labs MultiMedia II Upgrade Kit (2x CD-ROM drive, 16-bit SoundBlaster card with proprietary CD-ROM interface).

It could also have been M$'s Speech Development Kit. I have the Speech SDK 5.1 I think it is and the voices sound similar in that as well.

If I get enough interest in this, I may well offer the option. Only snag is being based in the UK for postage etc., but I'll see what I can do.

I'm quite shocked at the interest it has developed (though I'm very happy) and Mark, the author and star of the movie, has been delighted with the responses. It's been taking some serious bandwidth due to its size though. :(

Hey, try selling via CafePress.com. You can send the CD to them and they would like make copies and then you can sell worldwide. Only problem is, legalities and such. Not sure what they say about parodies and stuff. I think they have links to that question in their FAQs on their site.

Thanks for that. I think the main problem with that would indeed be people saying we're making money out of Knight Rider IP. I had to ask for donations in the end to keep the movie up to be downloaded purely because of bandwidth problems.

If I worked out the cost of the CD and postage, and possibly even a fully printed sleeve, then spreading it myself would be easiest. Would work out about £2-3 for UK, and only a pound or two elsewhere I think. I could also provide a better Windows Media copy on the CD, which would be handy. :)

If there are any interested parties, could you PM me here, or send me an e-mail. Cheers. :)

Sorry to bump this up, but for those on dial-up, you can get smaller copies of the movie at http://www.knightriderfans.com/fanfilm/ - an excellent Flash site.

Thanks to theknightrider for that!! :)
