Knight Rider on BBC TWO's "I Love 1983" . . .

Here's something I encoded almost three years ago, when Knight Rider was featured on
the 1983 episode of BBC TWO's "I Love The 1980's" documentary series. I've encoded
both the opening sequence and the main section featuring KR, as seperate videoclips.
The opening title even features an animated version of KITT. As for the choice of the
presenter of the program, a puppet known as Roland Rat . . . errr, don't ask . . . !
The filesize of the opening clip is about 5.6MB, while the main clip is just over 31MB.
To download the videoclips, right click, and choose the "Save Link As . . . " option.
I Love 1983 - Opening Sequence - 5,610 KB - 1 min 32 secs
I Love 1983 - Knight Rider - 31,184 KB - 9 mins 38 secs

Nice clips DJGM! Yeaa.. interesting choice as host.

I almost thought it was just going to be a rehash of the VH1 version that was here in the states, but they did a nice job with it. Thanks!

In the London area (Thames TV), Knight Rider premiered on Thursday, February 17, 1983. The first season followed, with several episodes skipped and broadcast between the second and third seasons.

Typical poor ITV scheduling. Why couldn't they have shown episodes in the correct order?!?

Not only that DJGM -- Our actual "third season" began with "Goliath Returns"! The actual running order, from "Goliath", went like this:
SEASON 2:
Goliath
Brother's Keeper
Merchants of Death
Blind Spot
Return to Cadiz
K.I.T.T. The Cat
Ring of Fire
Custom K.I.T.T.
Soul Survivor
Knightmares
Silent Knight
Big Iron
A Knight In Shining Armor
Diamonds Aren't a Girl's Best Friend
White-Line Warriors
Speed Demons
Race For Life
A Good Knight's Work
SEASON 3:
Goliath Returns
Let It Be Me
Mouth of the Snake (two parts)
Not a Drop to Drink
No Big Thing
Knight of the Drones (two parts)
Ice Bandits
Knights of the Fast Lane
Halloween Knight
K.I.T.T. Vs. K.A.R.R.
The Rotten Apples
Slammin' Sammy's Stunt Show Spectacular
Knight In Disgrace
...and on and on like that like.
It's interesting to note that as a result of ITV's different running order, we got "Big Iron" before it's first broadcast on NBC: it was shown on Thames on Thursday, February 9, 1984 -- a full three months before it debuted in the States.

One other thing about ITV's way of airing KR . . . they always cut the teaser. As soon as the announcer
had finished speaking (or about a second before) it would fade straight into the opening title sequence.
As for the download problems, the web space provider Spymac.net, seem to be very, very slow
indeed lately. Unfortunately, there is nowhere else available, for me to host such large files.

The Spymac servers seem to be faster today . . . at least at my end anyway.
Here's how the download progress looks on my 1.5Mb cable connection . . .
