Sci-Fi Channel will have marathons of Knight Rider and Sliders in early August, possibly both on August 3, for promotion for the DVD releases both are getting on Aug 3. More details will come soon, but Sci-Fi is planning lots of promos for these DVD's on-air and online.
Sci-Fi Channel is owned by Universal-NBC, which also owns Knight Rider and Sliders.

Dunno, but a Knight Rider marathon certainly makes up for it!

Good question... but I agree with Sweetinsanity (o.O do you live in the asylum too?)!
Did anyone notice that in season one KITT's scanner doesn't match the "whoosh" sound he makes? I guess I am slow... because I just noticed it yesterday while watching a Knight Rider rerun

...but if it's a marathon ON August 3rd, why watch it? We'll have the DVD with UNCUT episodes!

Marathons like this one seem to be more geared towards advertising the DVD release and informing the uninformed. We are already ahead of the curve by knowing that the sets will be out by then. So the marathons aren't really for us, the hardcore fans, but for the general viewers.
It may also be that the Marathon will contain a selection of the best episodes, rather than a block of one season.

I hate marathons! They kill interest in a show very quickly! Your opinion?

If they show epsiodes from the first series no need to watch it i'll be getting the dvd anyway so i'll only watch the marathons of the 2nd season,3rd,4th only for me.Of i didn't know that the first season dvd is going to have the uncut senses cool.

I somewhat agree that marathons kill interest in the show. Like one time I watched a marathon of a show and didnt feel like watching it like after the 4th ep they showed.

When Captain Planet was introduced on Cartoon Network in India, all 12 hours of the channel were spent in showing episodes of that show. I saw some, and saw them again, and got bored. Besides, I never really liked that show much.
On Bravo, in UK, I heard they showed all 13 episodes of Street Hawk, for 24 hours. That is one thing which I didn't approve of, since there were few episodes, and 24 hours. Can actually reduce interest in the show. 2-4 hours are enough, why 24? Even worse if you don't really like that show.

OK, I have seen Sci-Fi August and no sign of the Knight Rider DVD marathon. Though, Sliders is getting one on August 2 from 8am-4pm. No fair!

As far as I know, the Sci-Fi channel hasn't shown KR at all this week. I wonder what the deal is. They don't have it on their schedule for July, either.
