Knight of the Phoenix - Silly Moments

Earlier today I rewatched a videotaped copy of "Knight of the Phoenix," the two-hour premiere episode. It wasn't the best episode of the series by any means, but it did give the show a good start.
I got a chuckle out of the scenes featuring the two car thieves, but my favorite silly moment in the show probably wasn't meant to be silly. Near the end of the episode, KITT says to Michael, "Then you really do care." Michael replies, "Yeah, I care. But don't tell anybody."
William Daniels' delivery of the line was as delivered with just the right level of cheese that the line deserved. I actually laughed out loud!
I also like when Michael first sees KITT's dashboard and comments, "Looks like Darth Vader's bathroom!"
me too!

I never liked the scene where the truckers wanted to beat up on Michael and then he tells them he's "heavily trained in martial arts". Then they do a total cop out and don't show any fighting, but instead just have shots of the bad guys thrown around and out of the bar with some karate "ha!" shouts and yells dubbed in.

I still love the bad cover of the Eagles "Take It Easy" And the way Michael jamms to it. Actually it's really sad.

The goofy sound effect as KITT ejects the would-be car thieves is pretty funny.

Just think about the poor guy who had to play Michael Long. Poor guy never got to work again.
Notice in th pilot when mugsy is on the ladder, and the chick just thinks he's a matence man, but when she knows he's a cop and they decide to get rid of him.

My car of the epsiode is when those 2 guys are trying to break into K.I.T.T and the black guy i forget his name. He throws a brick at the door and the brick comes right back at him and hits him in the face. That was funny.

I loved the bit where Wilson gets all the truckers to stay alert for the T/A, and one of them pulls up.
Michael: Great.
Devon: What is?
Michael: I just figured out how they intend to stop me.
Dolan: That's right. Come to papa.
KITT:With all due respect, you aren't possibly considering....
Michael floors KITT.
KITT: Oh my word, you are.
Just at that point, Dolan's face turns sour...
Dolan Hey. Hey, that guy's NUTS!
Loved that bit. also like it just after KITT turbo boosted through the truck.
Wilson: Dolan. Dolan. Did you get him?
Dolan: I blocked the road and cut him off.
Wilson: Good work.
Dolan:Yeah but he went right through the side of my trailer.
Wilson: Have you been drinking?
Dolan: Not yet, but I plan on it.

Personally this is one of my favourite episodes! OK, there were a TON of continuity errors and it was much more lighthearted than the rest of the series or indeed the entire 4 season run, but the plot was utterly spot on for an 80s series programme.

I pesonally think that the line " it's probably a drunk see if he hurt himself " when KITT busted Michael out of the slammer. Also, in TDR when KARR asked Rev and that other character " Perhaps you wish to reproduce." That was hillarious!
Was KITT actually a metaphor for the Cold War in KotP

Only teasing.

I've been away from the forum for ages and thought I'd say hi with an interesting post.
In all fairness tho he was a product of the eighties and they usually had a cold war something underlying the US national psyche. Has anyone seen one in Knight of the Pheonix?
