Presenting the first shots of Knight Rider 2.
Bear in mind there is still a good 6 - 8 months development time left yet, but already you can see some nice new lighting effects.
Davilex will be at E3, so expect more shots and possibly demos in a few weeks time.

From those shots, so far I don't regret getting rid of my PS2.

I know what you mean. So Sith is KR2 just for the PS2 or are they going to give the Xbox a chance? I could see this game running miles better on the Xbox, but I suspect Davilex won't bother beyond the PS2 and a port over to the PC.

No plans for Xbox sadly, as far as I know.
Oh, and that KITT is just the model from the first game, so don't fret just yet. It is being used merely as a guideline for the new lighting tests.

sigh, the PS2, lowest common denominator. Its a shame, as it was one of the issues that arose in the requests for improvements in KR2 wants list.

True, I agree it would have been so much better for Xbox. But for a small european company, PS2 is considerably cheaper to develop for unfortunately.
Ah well. At the end of the day, I'm just thankful for a sequel at all. After all, you don't see Street Hawk or the A-Team getting new video games, let alone sequels.
And also Davilex were kind enough to take on board our comments regarding the first game, so kudos to them for listening to what fans want to see. You try anything like that with a large company like LucasArts, it goes straight in the trash can. (trust me, I know lol)

So this is just a lighting test, not really focusing on graphics and such? Because I was about to say, couldn't it be better? I was expecting a little more. I don't really understand video game development so I'm not sure how this is supposed to differ from what the actual game footage may look like
I'm not trying to sound ungrateful, I just can't help but to feel a little disappointed... but then again, I don't quite understand how they go about testing so maybe I should just keep my mouth shut 'til I actually get the game

Don't worry, you're not alone. It still looks very basic, with little realistic detailing of KITT. These guys know about programming, but nothing about car design and shapes. I'm not going to buy it. Who is responsible for this? Sack 'em I say!

wow, opinions are definately split on this! I with Sith though, after all is said and done, I'm glad to get a game, much less a sequel. It would be nice if we could get the makers of spyhunter to make it, but, like Sith said, they would not have listened to us. Bravo for them. I just want the game o be longer.
Oh, and I had a defective copy of the 1st game. The CG scenes and their sound was horribly misaligned. I'm looking forward to some working CGs

knight rider came over for the PC in usa but the PS2 game was only in the UK unfortunately you need a Region 2/4 PS2 and a PAL TV or a tv that has PAL/NTSC modes
