They should choose Divx instead of Flash

These should definitely be in Divx or QuickTime or even Windows Media. I can't play them at all on my iMac. :-(

Thanks guys! I will be putting up more videos this month. I might leave that section online for another month even thought I had originally planned to leave it up till May 1st. I decided to use Flash for the files to begin with and see how that went. Since some of you are having problems viewing the files, I will look into an alternative solution. I haven't messed with Divx at all but I will look into it and maybe quicktime as well. If anyone has any requests they would like to see, please let me know...I just might have it in my collection! If I have it, I'll put it up. :)

Good to hear from you again Nat... Personally I'm not a big fan of Divx. A lot of people use it now because it's the "hot new thing", but when you are looking to create a library of clips, you want something that is going to be playable 2,3, 5 years later. It's not clear if Divx will have that much staying power. Using QuickTime or a basic mpeg compression may prevent you from having to re-digitize everything 2 years from now.

I have about 20 episodes in Divx format which I am replacing with mpeg files for that reason. Divx gave me good file sizes and good quality video, but I don't feel safe relying on their player or plug-ins.

It's a gamble, whatever you choose.

Just try WMV or another Windows Media Player format :)

How awesome! Fun to see how they promoted Knight Rider back then, it makes me giggle :P Thanks for sharing DavidHFanNatalie and kitt.pl!

I didn't really mind Flash so much but Windows Media *would* be better, if you could do that... if not, then anything else would be fine, but like I said, I didn't really care so much about the Flash, just as long as I got to see 'em :)

I am having a problem playing them in both the Player and IE... what is the deal with that? I just upgraded it to 7 to try that and it still didn't work.
