Team Knight Rider Promo

Back in 1997, before TKR was released, I received a copy of a promo trailer for TKR. The 5 minute video was sent to syndicators and advertisers around the country to build support and sponsorship. It summaried the basic story for the new series, and introduced the characters and vechicles.

After the show aired, I put the whole video online, but a couple of years ago I had to take it down because at the time we were having board issues and what not and I needed the space.

To make a long story short, I've put the video back online. I've re-encoded it so it has better quality, and is half the file size of the original. Its 240x180, and is just under 10MB in size. It's pretty interesting to see if you haven't before, especially for those who missed its run.

You can find it at:

or directly at:

Enjoy!

it's amazing what a little editing can do!

Hmm, Rockatteer.. First you said you watched it, now your having issues? Bizarre.. Any chance you don't have the latest version of quicktime?

THe first time I watched it was straight off the net, so I thought the sound may simply have been due to lack of memory or tied up with internet speed etc.

But now I've tried running it from the HDD and its the same...hence my question.

Question: Did they actually call themselves "Team Knight Rider"? The original series was only called Knight Rider in the opening credits. I don't believe Michael, Devon, KITT, etc ever referred to that name during the show.
The guy in the movie Mad Max did, but...:-D

Erm, begging yer pardon, but if you haven't seen the show, you don't really have much of a right to go tossing around opinions like that.

Actually, I did watch it a bit. Was a HUGE letdown. Saw a couple of episodes and thought it was not worth the time. I mean the cars sucked, they didn't even have scanners. They were arrogant in a way that KITT never was. It was cr@p! There was a story where they transplanted one of the cars computers into some little car, so they could capture some guy. What, a complete computer control system with actuators, scanning system, etc takes an hour to transplant? Yeah right!

Cool promo.

Its a shame that the series didn't live up to the expectations of the promo.

This promo was cool also I don't remeber who said this but he said "everyone is going to want a Ford F-150 after the show".

Basically all the vehicles except the motorcycles were Ford's. I wonder if Ford got as much attention as Pontiac did when KR was airing? :?:

No, because the show wasn't as popular as KR, not even a whole lot of people even got to see the show due to the scheduling, and those that did were so disappointed, they turned away from it.

Duane Davis who played Duke said that line. Alot of the lines they said are laughable now, like kathy trageser who played erica saying how big they were going to be a year from now. We can laugh at it now, but back then they either believed it or hoped that it would be true. They did the video to sell themselves and their show in hopes of drawing attention and thus an audience to the show. Didn't really work.

People thought that Fords would get really popular after Jurassic Park, too. I dunno. If an Explorer can't stand up to a Tyrannosaurus Rex, I don't think I want one.

What you mean Fords aren't already popular????

I wonder why?

Well the video has been back online for a little over a week, and so far there has been 545 attempts to download the video. I can't really say how many were successful, but I am sure that most of them were, because we would be hearing more about it. (cept for rockatter whos pentium I was to blame)

It amazes me that so many people would be interested in the promo. Thats over 75 attempts a day. It's probably just curiousity, but still cool.
