speeking of owning a replica, how much is an 82 ta in the usa now??
as in australia there well over $16,000 dollars, and thats with right hand drive conversion
i get really frustrated when i see on this board or others that some one has bought one for only a few thousand dollars..
If only i could win the lotto..

Less than a $1000? Er, I have only seen three at that, one was not a real vehicle, and the other two were found out to be pretty rotted out. So beware. For a good 82 TA, you are looking at around $1500, to $2500, and buying it from ebay is a heck of a risk, buyer beware.

For the initial topic, nope, I do not own a replica. I once had a base car, but it was stolen, so I find myself living through others, and of course, keeping on the hunt.

Oh, and Happy Birthday, Dumbledore. I just noticed that your age jumped from 14 to 17. Normally most of us count backwards.

I don't own a KARR replica, BUT the voice modulator does connect
to the audio system.

You can make custom voice modulators to your liking by following a few simple design principles. The easiest way to power it is by the voltage to the speakers. Just run wires from both of a speaker's terminals to the unmarked terminals of a bridge rectifier (available from Radio Shack). Then, run wires from the marked + and - rectifier terminals to the led terminals respectively. The diodes will shine proportionately to the volume of the speaker. If you wish to make varied levels of volume indication, zener diodes work well to block voltage up to a specified value. For example, you can have one set of leds that light up at nearly any sound/voltage level. Then, you can have a set that lights up at 3 volts, and another that lights up at 6 volts. This type of design is very dependable, since it contains no transistor logic circuits, and needs no external power supply. Sensivity depends on what type of leds and how many you use, as well as how you put the circuit together.

This design is essentially the same as volume level indicators on some stereos and boomboxes, but if you arrange the leds the right way, you can imitate lips moving, as with KITT.

I am close to having (having not in the sense of registered on me, but built for me) a KARR replica. The base car has been brought and EVERYTHING depends on the paint job. If it is good then the 1983 TA will stay as it is because my grandfather doesn't want to repaint a car with good paint. If the paint is bad, it's a green light!

KARR: "Yes. I do hope that the paint will be bad, because otherwise I will have to stay in this darn CPU stand and no Turbo Boosts. And no fun for my Engineer. And if there is a green light, my body will only a facade/exterior replica, unless my Engineer begs his grandfather into the dash."
