Can any one imagine what KR would have been like in the past. Before all the technology.
For example: the old west, one man and his talking horse.

I think that's been done already
But it is an interesting thought, just perhaps a different time period.

The Lone Ranger, Superman, Batman, Zorro, The Rifleman, medieval tales of chivalry...
You won't find many talking horses(maybe a few)but they all have the same basic concept: a loner (sometimes with sidekick) fighting for good against all odds - the quintessential good guy. The guy we all wish we could be, and sometimes think we are. There's no shame in standing up for your idea of truth and the right, however. Fight on, loners!

Could be like that "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" flick for a wild west KR. Kitt could be a steam powered cart with rivited armor platting all over him or something. And MK could be an ex-sheriff left for dead by a bunch of Billy the kid badasses. I could see it

, just don't know how they could fit the whole talking super computer thing in

by KR: the next crusade
Another idea: Knight Rider: the Prequel
The story: how Wilton Knight and Devon Miles decided to create FLAG. How they have recruited theirts engeneers. How the conflict between Garthe and his father is born... What kind of projects Wilton and Devon created before KITT...

If it is the old west you won't have a talking super computer of course, but how about a ghost or spirit that has possessed the cart and can control it also talk to MK.

Oh, that's easy. See, inside that steam engine, there is this incredible combination of tiny pipes that work thousands of gears and pullies. Different flows of steam operate the "great brain" and an incredible steam vent is rigged up to generate this sort of steam powered voice...
...just as long as it isn't a remake of Knight Boat called Knight Train.
