I can't remember the last time I posted. I was stunned that I remembered my password.
Anyway... yeah, snafu here.
I moved to Texas and I'm pursuing a degree in a healthcare program. Lots of big changes in life. Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces.

I believe the community has become rather quiet since your last visit. Welcome back. And hopefully, I'm not the only one saying it.

It's become a very sleepy community. Probably the passage of time and probably the cool down on all things about the property. After all, I see the gap between posts being from the 11'th to the 20'th. I remember the days when this community would generate 10-20 subjects in a day.

ha. I made this thread and forgot about it. Sorry for thread necromancy.
I'm going to try to join in here more, because some of the other forums I'm on seem to have descended into hysteria. It's just that my life has gotten quite busy.

Its quieter here than when I go to sleep. Except, I don't sleep. Anyway, hi. I'm Assasinge. If you scroll down, almost every post you see will have a reply by me because I have no life and probably no one really cares here bout me anyway. G'day.

I guess I've been here 10 years, if we go by the date. I've just been absent for a while, due to academia, moving, getting involved with relationships... I've had a lot of living in the meantime!
I actually got back here because I had some weird KR dreams, and I figured I should wander back over. I was thrilled to find some of my favorite fanfics were still being web-hosted.

Is the chat still working? I have a Mac now. Can't decide if it's showing weird, or if it's dead :/

Hey there, Long time no see.
We took down the chat a few years ago because it wasn't being used enough to justify the resources it was using. It's a shame too, because we all had some really good times in there.

So, I've seen a few laments about the loss of the chat.
I've just created a ##KnightRider channel over on Freenode.
Hook your favourite IRC client up to chat.freenode.net (I use Pidgin) and /join ##KnightRider

...what's an IRC client??
Oh I know there's no reason to keep something up that sucking bandwidth.
Remember when some of us were on Myspace? LOL. Good times.

An IRC client, is a thing on your machine you can use to connect to an Internet Relay Chat server.
The most user friendly clients, like Adium X for the Mac and Pidgin for Windows/Linux can connect to multiple server through various protocols.
My pidgin client currently connects to:
my AIM account (remember AIM?, no one has spoken to me on that account for years).
My freenode.net account (and various chats (channels) there, some for fun, some for software projects I'm involved with)
my soylentnews.org account
my slack.com account which we use for internal communications at work.
Freenode has a webchat client, so you don't need to setup a client on your machine if you're not so inclined:

Ahhh, I just got my Mac when Windows 2007 got one of its hard disc errors and decided life wasn't worth living anymore. I do need to explore its functions in more detail.
I'm trying to limit my online accounts, because I was dealing with stalking/harassment from an ex. I'll try a chat infterface, as long as it doesn't connect to something that is a common username I use elsewhere.
They, uh, haven't found me here, hence the sudden uptick in my activity.

I will say that one of the nice things about freenode is that it's really old-school anonymous. Choose a username, choose a password., Done. No real names, age verification, name of your 2nd cousin once removed, etc. I don't even have logging turned on for ##KnightRider channel, so the conversations are completely ephemeral.
That said, I use the same net-handle there as I do everywhere, but that's a personal choice and by no means a requirement.

Hey snfau, I saw someone (I'm guessing it was you) pop in to the room and say hello. I'm guessing it worked! The problem with a chat room, is that without some critical mass of people hanging out in there...it tends to be lame.
