I tried a search, but came up empty
Has anyone ever tried to replace the surface mount led's with 3mm ones on the aoshima scanner unit?
I working on a large scale Kitt and need a bigger scanner.

I used an alarm add on red scanner (years ago, don't remember the name), but it ran on 12v... fit nicely in my Talking Kenner Kitt...

I did it yesterday, I unsoldered the smaller board from the main board and connected 8 3mm red led. It works great, now I just need to figure out how to mount it in the model.
