Why do people hate Mouth Of The Snake?

I absolutely loved this episode, It always in my top 10 easily.
A lot of people think Michael takes a back seat in this episode, but if you watch it he actually does get a lot of airtime, he just does less of the snooping/fighting and more of the driving/computing/logic stuff. The emotional scenes with Joanna were very good.
Edwardo Obrien (RIP) was a great villian. This episode had plenty of action, and a real big time villanous pair in Matthews and Obrien with a big artillery. The rocket launcher semi was great and a real threat to KITT, you really thought he was going to be destroyed half way through. The soundtrack was also outstanding, Don Peke at his best as always.
It was interesting seeing Michael with a partner, but there was animosity between the pair and they were never truely working together. It wasn't like a sidekick, they were both mystery men who had dark pasts and probably thought they were the only one/best of their kind.
It was also a cool idea having the kind of Bionic Man super athlete. He showed Michael up a bit! I think it was done well and not over done like perhaps the psycho theme in Halloween Knight. They didn't overplay on it but you always knew it was there and it was cool.
The only thing I didn't like in the episode was the destruction of the rocket launcher semi was pretty lame. I expected a showdown with KITT. It would have been a good ending, along with the fight between David and Edwardo.
But I noticed in some older threads some people certainly had a love/hate relationship with the episode. I always wondered why?
