Knight Rider and Die Hard Movies

I was watching Die Hard 2: Die Harder the other night (followed by 3 and 4) and I came across something I thought was rather interesting. It seems Knight Rider and Die Hard share the same sound effects for computers.

Listen to this file of KITT's distinctive computer/printer from No Big Thing (sound effect was also used as KITT's radar in A Plush Ride)

I know Die Hard 2 is not a family friendly movie, so i'm posting the time codes - that way you can skip to just the part I'm talking about. If you listen closely, you can hear KITT's printer sound effect used for the "church" computers.

Here's the sound effect as heard in portions of the movie - this effect is heard throughout but I'm just giving two examples here.

Also, I don't know if it was mentioned on here but Yancey Arias (Alex Torres in 08) was also in Die Hard 4 aka "Live Free or Die Hard" as Agent Johnson.

Small world.

Steven E. de Souza, who wrote the screenplay for the first Die Hard (and I think the second one, too) was a producer for most of Knight Rider's first season. He wrote Inside Out and Trust Doesn't Rust.

He also wrote episodes of The Six Million Dollar Man, Commando, The Running Man, Street Fighter (Van Damne), Judge Dredd, and yes Die Hard 2 as well as Beverly Hills Cop 3. Steven produced 20 episodes of Knight Rider starting with Deadly Manuevers and ending with Short Notice. He's definately no stranger to action even if some of his movie projects are hit and miss.

Actually, de Souza's run as producer ended with the episode "Chariot of Gold" (or "A Nice, Indecent Little Town" in production order) for a run of 16 shows. The IMDB listing is unreliable.

Fair enough, I stand corrected. You didn't list the number of episodes the first time around, so I improvised.

I count 15, what's missing?

The episode "Just My Bill" is missing from that list for some reason. That was actually a script that Steven contributed to, as well.
