knight rider online

I've watched the new Knight Rider season this week and some of the bits of the timeline are confusing to me, so if someone could help me, it would be appreciated.

The show said that Mike disappeared for three years while in the Army, and that he came back, but what age was he when that happened? If somebody knows. Because all we know somehow, is that it was the summer after graduation and now he's twenty-three.

Usually when you graduation from high school you are 18 sometimes 19 years old. So my guess is hes around that age when he did that.
