I agree, I like this too. Although I could live with the transformations in the series, I think sticking to this Attack Mode and normal mode would be more believable, and maybe could have retained more mainstream viewers. The less extreme transformations like in the pilot could be achieved in a more mechanical way like in the series by the side scoops popping out, the normal mode spoiler separating into the double spoiler, etc. As well the "nanoskin" could be more a way to change color, maybe camouflage or even work with scanners to make a transparency illusion ( and still repel bullets). Last idea, the 4x4 could be scrapped and just have the suspension lift, the wheelbase extend slightly, and use special tires that can inflate and somehow achieve better off-road grip. (Yes, I stole this last idea from Viper....)

Is this the attack mode from the pilot???!! I dont remember seeing the fins on the back end .

The original "Attack Mode" was better, however, I think that K.I.3.T. was just fine being a "standard Mustang" that has advanced capabilities.

I Always had big respect for this design. KITT doesnt need to have the silver pipes and big tyres!! its is the car of the future. the pilot version just did that, small aditions and you will have an even better car than the normal mode

Thanks for posting those pics, they are new to me! I absolutely loved the Pilot Attack Mode. Was so aggressive and yet not overbearing.

By the way, those pics are from the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, when they had the pilot cars (hero and attack mode) featured on Jay's Garage. Jay got to play with the radio control system for the Hero car (which could be driven by radio control). It was a very good episode. Jay even got to drive the attack mode car around. There's great video of it. Just remember, these are the cars used in the pilot.

i was at the studio during filming of the Pilot episode for a few days. got bored and noticed Attack KITT was sitting by himself on his trailer away from everyone. so pulled up right next to him to get a few shots.

i really do prefer this attack mode to the series one.

it looks so much better than the series one where everything is black.

only thing im not a fan of is the double rear spolier i think maybe a single one would have been cool but still it is an amazing and mean looking ki3t
