I was also unlucky enough to get the yellow light version before they released the clear light one. I've read that people have either painted the yellow light silver, put some black masking tape over the light to cover it or if you are skilled enough, make your own mini clear fog light as a replacement.

another option, is cast new ones. You will need 2 things, silly putty or clay, and elmer's white glue.

Step 1: take the yellow lens, hold it by the peg that fits into the hole in the front bumper and pres it into the silly putty or clay. then remove it leaving an impression of the lens.

Step 2: squeeze the white glue into the 'mold' and let it dry and harden. it will dry clear, remove it from the 'mold' and trim off excess 'flash' from the part.

Step 3: brush some silver paint on the back of the clear instead of clear yellow lens and put it in the recess on the car's front bumper.

There ya go, hope that helps :good:

You can soak the yellow lamps in paint remover and then scrape the yellow off, but it tends to leave yellow stains which don't fully come out. Alternatively sand off the yellow paint, but this will leave sanding marks.

They are painted in clear orange from behind if I remember right.

I have not taken my yellow lenses out of my car to do the making new clear ones yet, but i did the same thing on a different car that had similar bad looking lenses.

I didn't alter my yellow light version. I just bought the newer all silver/white version.

You know what i would do? Remove all three of them, Throw away the yellow ones, and then place the two on each side centered withing the opening. I dont ever recall seeing KITT in the series with 6 fog lighs in the front!! The replicas that have 6 lights in the front get me angry!!! hahahahaha. look at the pic... for god sake!!! hahaha. Did it ever had a third light??? If it did, it looks ugly. stick with two!

KITT had 3 fog lights on each side for most of the first season. They were hidden by the grills in the nose.

ohhhhh.... you learn something every day!...... Well.... i still think that the 3 lights so exposed like that looks terrible. they look like teeth! I like the shots were there are barely seen.
So... in some it had 2 lights on each side? because thats the plan with my 3d model! am i being not accurate if i only use two per side?

The 3d model this website's banner has only two. I am confused!! i thought i knew it all!! hahhaaha :?

I'd say its like conversions, it's whatever your preference is. I like 3 fog lights because it fills out the nose better in my opinion while other people like the two bigger fog lights. I think your model looks great either way you choose to go!
