Does anyone know if there is any plan by the KR08 people to put out a KR08 Soundtrack CD?
Thanks in advance!

No one's heard anything yet about a soundtrack, but here's a list of the music used if you want to find the songs yourself and make one for yourself:

Thanks, Sky! I was listening to the radio the other day and came across one of the songs they used in the ep "A Hard Days Knight" and fell in love with it. I do hope they do a soundtrack CD though. I would like the theme music.

I hope they do too!The show NCIS (it's on CBS) they have a soundtrack CD available on sale, and I don't see why KR can't have on either.Unless NBC doesn't want to pay all those royalty fees for using their songs.

I'm a soundtrack buff (*) so I was wondering the same thing. I contacted several prominent soundtrack labels asking about it and one responded that release of Christopher Tyng's score is, and I quote, 'a possibility'. Since it's more about contracts and legal matters than anything else I won't say which label it was, as if the record isn't released it's not really their fault - and I don't anyone to blame them for it. But I can say they are soundtrack specialists with high production values and great soundtrack catalogue. Thumbs up on that one, I say
(*) I used to run a soundtrack review site until my game development business ate all that spare time. The site is still online, though it hasn't been updated in about an year (

I too hope they come out with a soundtrack cd for kr08. I love that new theme. I think it would be cool if they'd reissue a special edition of the soundtrack for TOS, too. I'd love to get my hands on that one, as well. I got it from Napster, but at this point, you can't buy the album from them, only download it.

Knight Rider has the absolute worst music on a tv series I've heard in awhile.
Except for one or two seconds of electronica, it's like being awash in a bad Michael Bay movie. When I hear those 'rockin' guitars when Michael kicks ass, I think of Michael Bay-ish astronauts trying to blow up asteroids with the Transformers...and 80's hair bands..kind of a pastiche really.
Awful music. Blech.

Umm, I always thought the scores of Michael Bay flicks were their highlight. The most recent, Steve Jablonsky's Transformers, was one tight sci-fi action epic in sonic form. Or did you mean the songs instead of score?
Just for reminder; the album I was talking about was the original Christopher Tyng compositions. When speaking of CDs, these days it seems score and soundtrack are completely different things. Score has the original compositions, while soundtrack album is the one filled with 'music from and inspired by' the flick/show (usually meaning there's the rock song from end credits and the rest of the album was slapped together by an office clerk).
EDIT; BTW, giving much pop/rock hits there were in TOS, I find it rather odd there never was that 'from and inspired by album' in the 80s. Or perhaps the trend hadn't started yet. These days some series spawn multiple albums whether fans want them or not (8 albums of The OC comes to mind).
