Discrediting/Disowning the Feb 08 Pilot Movie by GST

I wanted to post this in the hopes that people would please stop making the assumption that EVERYTHING that was in the Feb 08 Pilot Movie is considered Canon in the regular series that started in Sept 08.
Gary Scott Thompson was given permission by the powers that be to take certain elements of the movie, if he so wished. He took the majority of the characters, save for Mike's buddy, and placed them in the new show. The issue of Carrie's sexual preference was never approached in the new show. The actual origin of KI3T has never been discussed. Mike's father's last name is Long, but other than that, we really have not heard anything more about that person. Mike Traceur's identity has been terminated, and his current alias is Michael Knight. Alex Torres, as well as Billy and Zoe were added to the show. KI3T has had his attack mode changed, as well as the physical interior arrangement, as well as the ability to manually shift his transmission. The middle touch screen and voice modulator have been reassigned to the orb and HUD. We have not heard any information regarding a vehicle or AI that was called the Knight Industries Two Thousand, period. There has not been any action regarding Prometheus, the weapons system that was the MacGuffin (a plot device that motivates the characters or advances the story, but the details of which are of little or no importance otherwise) of the story.
We have not been told since the pilot movie came out that this series is in fact a continuation of the original series (TOS). We until recently have not heard Wilton Knight's name mentioned, or FLAG. Will we heard more (as of this date) in the next 5 episodes? Most likely, yes. But the facts are there, that the entire pilot movie cannot and should not be considered Canon. The discussion about there being 2 GM 3rd Generation F-Body (Trans-Ams) cars , as well as various pieces of what appear to be KI2T scattered in Graiman's Garage is irrelevant. Because they have not been discussed in the current series, they did not happen.
Because we as fans of TOS would love to fill in these gaps, the writers have not heeded to do so.
