American Idol / KR video

Last month I mentioned how I thought the STYLE of music used for the American Idol theme could work in the new movie.
http://www.knightrideronline.com/phpbb/ ... .php?t=965
After guiltily watching American Idol for a month now, I took the theme music and slapped it over the Knight Rider credits. Watching it like this, I'm not so sure it's the right style for the actual movie, but could be worked into a music video.
Remember, I don't think the actual American Idol music could be used in the movie, just the STYLE of music.
My sample video: (776k quicktime)

*blushes* I can't believe I am saying this, but it does seem to sorta go pretty well. And you did a pretty good job with the vid, Mike.

Simon would make a good pilot fo the movie... (Grins)
But shouldn't a music vidio be more than just... a MPG clip tha makes people go... "huh, well, they certenly have to much time on thiere hands." It should be more like. "DUDE! I Have GOT to watch that show." Nods. Yep, all good vids should do that.
(Starts to hum 'Tenth Man Down')

That wasn't very nice at all. Mike went through the effort of making it, the least you could do is thank him. And to be honest, to most normal people, that DOES make you want to watch the program.
(And if you are trying to do an impression of Simon Cowell, you missed.)

The American Idol music comes and goes in my mind. It's better than last years version because when I posted to your original thread, I hadn't listened to this years version. Its basically the same, but alot less of the woman going "Woo Woah" I hate that part. Interesting experiment. It's not a direct import of the opening either, do you see one credit in there? There is some editing.

Opps, should have said this last night...
I couldn't get the vid to download. This pc is evil.
Sorry if I was... speaking my mind. But I have seen vid that would blow you away. I don't mean to ofend.
Get's a weasely voise: WE SHOULDN'T BE FIGHTING AT ALL!!! (Even though we should still hate Door...)
I do like the RK vids I've seen, they are really spiffy, but they wouldn't impress any one who doesn't like KR. That's all I'm saying.
Hope this PC behaves latter on so I can watch it. Maybe my bro can help me again. He's good at that sort of stuff.

Thanks KI... and TT Snim, I think you're completely missing the point of the video. I'm not trying to dazzle anyone with my editing skills, or trying to get anyone to watch Knight Rider or even American Idol. I was simply trying to demonstrate how in my mind there was a natural connection between that style of music and Knight Rider visuals.
It's a completely disposable video; you watch it once and think "yeah, that music fits" or "nah, it doesn't work for me".

I have to be honest...that was cool!!! You did an excellent job Mike. The style would be perfect if the producers wanted a complete techno-like (is that the right wording for the Idol theme?) but could be too technoish for most people.
Though I thought it was keen!

Considering how much i dislike the show (but still find myself at times watching it)......i think that music actually fit that video really well. Great job with the vid Mike...

Finally, I got it from the computers here at Marshall University. Pretty awesome job! It wasn't working at home.

Sounds like a great discussion for the "Board Dealings" forum.
But getting back to American Idol. Although I appreciate everyone's comments about the work I supposedly did, what amazes me is how LITTLE work I did to make the music fit. I didn't do a single thing to try to get the images to fit the music, other than making the video the same overall length as the music. (I had to throw in one extra scene because after deleting all the humans it was a bit short.) But I swear, the images seem to change with the musical transitions. KITT's power-up sequence matches a rise in the music. KITT hits the glass right on a strong downbeat. And the "Ohhhhh-Ahhhhh" vocals sort of go along with the big turbo boost from Indecent Town.
They were destined to be together.

That's exactly why I enjoyed it so much. As Mike said the music fit perfectly!!!

SOME KNAVE DELEETED MY POST! INJUSTICE!!! (Must have been Door...)
*Ahem*
Jan Hammer. He did the KR 2000 theme.. and his other music is... well, it's Kitt. That's all I can say. I mean... It's Kitt. You listen to it and you can almost feel Kitt in it. Maybe it's just me, but I think I'm on to some thing.
Go out and find some of his stuff, you'll hear what I mean.

With all due respect, TT Snim, stop it. There is no continued need to keep dredging things up for entertainment. It's not funny, it is a waste of board space, and is extremely uncalled for.
And as for Jan Hammer, the biggest problem is: He's NOT KR, because he was the signature for Miami Vice.

To tell you the truth, it didn't work for me either. In fact, it kinda made me feel ill with all that woahing - just one reason why I didn't watch any of that music-stars after Popstars (UK)

thats so weird how that turned out. who would have guessed. still though in my opinion they should use the original opening music for the beginning of the movie. i dont know any knightrider fan that dosent get that tune stuck in there head every once in awhile
