I think that line was just plain stupid by Zoe in Knight In Shining Armor and disrespect to the original series. Hopefully they will tone her comments down in the future episodes. So far I think the episode was alright, but I hope it concentrates more on KITT and Michael. Next ep looks pretty good when they have Michael buried in dirt to his head. That's what I like to see, some good tough villians that give Michael and KITT a challenge plus put both of them in perilous situations.

Just my thoughts, What did you all think?

Hopefully her character will be killed off completely. So far she has not been given a single good line. But seeing as they tried to make light of the fact that she speaks 9 languages, this will be her apparent use in Knight Industries.

The original Michael Knight was pimp. I think you need to re watch all the episodes of the 80s version and just see how much of his time is taken up chasing women.

Yea I think her comments need to stop or they should kill her off completely. They are trying to make her like the sexy bad girl type that will kick anyones a$$. They already have a women like that, sarah. I don't think she will add anything positive to the show. So what she can speak 9 languages. Wouldn't kitt speak more. Couldn't they just use kitt in the future instead of her?

Specifically I believe Billy shortened to "Mike Long", making it sound a lot less formal - and I hate to say it but it DID sound like a porn name.

Think of it this way,his name could always be Mike Shlong.That sounds more of a porno name than Mike Long.I like her because she gives us something to laugh at when she teases Billy.We should all take this as satire to the old series we know and love.Like the episode of code monkeys.

Both Billy and Zoe should go.

The attempt at humour by both character's was poor....very poor actually. The passing out scene by Billy was dumb and unfunny and probably a silly attempt to make the show camp again.

The humour should be subtle, like in the original series. Not humour that screams out "this is funny, laugh at us".

I really didn't feel that scene added much.

One thing that I've noticed that seemed disrespectful to me is that in some of the interviews GST has likened the original KI2T to a talking GPS -- something to the effect that all cars talk now, it's called GPS and they had to do something more spectacular and outrageous with KI3T to thrill today's audience. Somehow they just seem to be missing the point about all the other cool things about KI2T -- perhaps that belief is one of the reasons the KI3T has about all the personality of a GPS

I agree, get rid of Zoe. She should be downsized. The original KI2T could speak and translate other languages, if the KI3T is an improved model he should be able to as well.

Except I doubt KITT is going to be taking calls for Knight Industries.... Though yeah, they should have technology that allows for, instantaneous software based translation, especially through a phone.

The only thing that would make Mike Long sound more like a porn star name is if "fellow" was added to it.

While it was sort of funny in a stupid way, thanks to this line I'll never think of the name Michael Long quite the same way again.

It's not disrespectful, just not original. When the February movie came out, a lot of people on various scifi boards (and some critics) made the point that cars are capable of talking now, so it's not that big of a deal anymore. GST was merely echoing what lots of other people already said before he was even hired for the job.

It makes sense that Mike would want to take his fathers real name. It shows his first thought was to his family connections and not to what would sound cool. (Cause you just know if GST had Mike think of Knight right off the bat we’d all be saying… well really his father’s name was Long.

The show targets mainly people in their teens. Idiotic jokes are bound to come up; a lot. It's that kind of show; things like that are going to happen.

And if you keep in mind what an intentionally overblown, loud and cheesy show it's supposed to be, you might find it a lot more enjoyable. All I ask of it is to make sense and be relatively fun. The porn jokes I can make the best of and chuckle with.

yeah gps talks to you to give you navigational directions, if you want to use that as an excuse that all cars talk today that is a little rediculous. kitt is not gps, kitt is an artificial intelligence, and unlike gps kitt can also respond to you and drive itself, so i dont know what the stupid reference is that all cars talk today.

^^ It's the impact it has on viewers, like goldbug already explained. Twenty years ago, it was so unheard of for a car to speak and say anything, that a talking car was instantly placed in the sphere of "cool". Nowadays, the voice is anything but new. So, they have to start stressing what the AI and the car itself does to make it cool.

Over here in the UK theres a running joke where a guy will walk up and say "my name is Mr Oxlong, Mike Oxlong...."

So with that in mind, its perfectly plausible that Mike Long could have those connotations...
