Found a few fan-made opening theme variations on the net I´d like to discuss.
First, here´s one with the original (not sure if its entirly the original one...sounds a bit different in parts...not sure) set to the 2-hour movie´s opening:

I like this one.

Here´s one that has a very intensive bass part (even more then the real new intro)...what I like about this one is that it has the high pitched "da-di-da" wich is either missing in the 2008 intro or not really apparent:

Here´s my favorite...its basically a "rocked" (metal) up version of the original:

I completely agree!! That one is AMAZING!! Whoever made it needs to send it to NBC. They would probably have to shorten it a bit as it is a little long. I actually am a fan of the new intro & music but that one blows it away! I saved it to my computer so at least I can pretend that is the new opening.

I'm fairly certain I've heard that version of the theme before, if not then it was something very close to it.

This is my first attempt on video editing and my first youtube appearance so please be clement. To me it works very well, the end isn't as anticipated but I thought the new tune needs the classic jingle...

That is awesome! LOL... even if it was to be set to the new theme and without the narrative, it would still make a very nice intro.

Problem to me isn't the theme for the new series... it's the jumbled collage of scenes... too much going on in the :40 of music. A theme needs an opening, climax and end, just like the show... and it is to get you pumped for the show... what we have now is no real direction... hopefully the retool will bring in a new intro, probably won't... but hopefully if we are to get a season 2 we'll get a much better opening.

I like the theme though, I have since the Pilot... and on that note, why not just use it... it was better then what we have... but I'm just glad we have the theme, so may shows are left without them... it's a shame, theme songs, I feel, are important to a show.

Nicely done crash...What I liked was the showing of Kitt's abilities...I know that came from their commercials but they should use some of those abilities more often...
