I know it's not KR related but what does everyone think, will they use classic van or go with something new?

The upcoming Knight Rider film could unintentionally be grouped by audiences with the rest of the '80s remakes, so let's hope this A-Team film is good. Not saying the success of the KR movie is dependent on whether other '80s remakes are good or not, but I wouldn't want too many people saying, "Oh, now they're making a Knight Rider movie, too?" and then already dismiss it in their minds before even seeing it.

I think they'll use a GM van but it will have to be different. I personally don't see this movie happening. I also can't imagine the A-Team without George Peppard.

They should have a updated van, but a bit more like a tank this time around.

Heres my ideal line up for the A team

Murdock, Jim carrie

Hannible, Tommy lee jones

Face man, Brad Pitt

BA, ice cube

Your thoughts?

It's going to be Miami Vice all over again, but worse.

the A team would have to be a remake, not a continuation...

imagine guys who were vietnam vets in '72 running around now....???

gulf war maybe but as problems are still ongoing over there, it will be dogged with controversy

i agree Carey would be great as murdock but is he too old now??

as for the rest of the cast, i dont know

and would anyone include Amy, Gen Stockwell or Frankie the "dishpan" guy???

Keep in mind it already has a director attached, John Singleton who is primarily known for his more urban gangland films such as Boyz n the Hood, Babyboy, Higher Learning, and more recently Shaft and 2 Fast 2 Furious so I would expect A-Team to have this urbanized slant to it.

I have no doubts that this movie will happen simply because Hollywood is desperate to remake everything they can because in my opinion based on what I've read and witnessed they believe that making films based on properties with built in audiences insure a return on their investment no matter how bad the movie is.

I think like Knight Rider, the signature vehicle (van) should look cool and resemble the original one but who knows what direction John Singleton is going to take it. If I were to venture a guess, the van will be overly flashy and tricked out like the cars in 2 Fast 2 Furious. I'd be very surprised if we got the same plain black and red van as before.

You have to wonder how Mr. T is going to feel if his signature character B.A. is replaced by someone new. Could be Samuel L. Jackson or Lawrence Fishburne as well since they've worked with Singleton in the past but Ice Cube is probably the best estimate of the bunch. I would venture a guess on Michael Clark Duncan if he chose to stick with the oversized bodyguard approach.

I'd watch that movie! That's a brilliant casting suggestion. :dash: :kitt2:

NO rappers for the BA character. They do NOT work. I admit I am saying this with a bias because I hate that kinda music but look at the xXx sequel which flopped. I cannot think of one rapper that starred in a film that was a success except for Eminem's movie but that was really about him and the whole subject of rap so that does not count.

I'm not sure how this will play out. But why not keep Mr. T as BA?

I agree. Keep some of the characters from the original show. I enjoyed the A-Team when it was originally on. It was like KR. I don't remember ever missing it. The thing I hate about all of the remakes coming out is they want to redo everything, from the actors to the cars they used to drive. Not saying that their choices are bad, but they can't seem to capture the magic the old shows used to have.

the original characters could have been caught, tried and served time by now, thus making the A team kinda redundant...

better as a new cast with new energy
