I for one want to see the series more than the movie.I don't know why but I'm more interested in a continuation rather than a recreation of the pilot episode of the old series. What would you rather see?

I agree with you, I'm not much of a fan of reboots when they're not needed and that's largely why I have any interest in the TV movie and hopefully the theatrical version doesn't resemble the pilot/Knight of the Phoenix at all aside from maybe one or two key things. I just kind of wish it wouldn't go the reboot route and use the same characters but with new people.

I prefer the TV Movie/potiential new series for the same reason. I want a continuation involving David Hasselhoff. It sounds like He will make guest apperances every now and then in the new series should one get picked up. At least once or twice a season anyway. More if I could have it though.
Don't get me wrong though I will still go see the Larson Feature film. It will be interesting to see how its updated.
I LOVE that we now have a choice. Cause I hate RECASTS. Its an insult to the original Stars in my opinion. Its like your saying they aren't good enough to be in the Movie version. Of whatever project it is.

I favor a series because that means we get treated to weekly adventures (assuming there is a series). However, should the theatrical movie get off the ground as well I'd be ecstatic and definitely show up first day!

I'm much rather see a theatrical version.
Doing a new series is "safe". Even if it's done well, there would still be a sense of "been there, done that." Films are different. They have different pacing, different storytelling, they are a different experience all together. (Much more than simply having bigger budgets.) And a major motion picture release can create an event in a way that that a TV premiere never can.
That being said, I'm thrilled that we DON'T have to choose and are getting both.

I believe a reboot is more interesting. Doing a continuation as a series opens up the possibility of seeing the '82 Trans Am show up in a later episode, or maybe Bonnie comes back for a guest appearance. But the writers are kind of restricted with the universe and tone of the show. If you call it a continuation, you have to follow certain rules. But if you do a reboot, it gives you much more creative freedom.
Going way, WAY back, before the FIRST Knight Rider movie was announced, there was a lot of discussion about who we would all cast in a KR movie. I said I wanted to see Tim Burton's Knight Rider with Johnny Depp as Michael Knight. I'd make it dark and gothic, and make Michael Knight (and KITT) more like vigilantes. (holy ripoff, Batman! didn't care.

) And I'd get rid of KITT's pesky "protect human life" programming. It would NOT be the original series. It would be different. Possibly doomed to failure. But definitely interesting.

I'd prefer to see the series. Though my main reason is biased. But in general I do prefer a series over a movie. A movie you see it, and its done, there's no continuation. With a series, there's something new every week to see and look forward to.

I am for the movie by Glen Larson. This TV show is most likely going to go the ways of KR 2000, KR 2010, and TKR. They've messed it up so much I don't think anyone can get it right but the creator or some of the great original writers of the 80's series.

Well I'am going for the tv movie and hopefully series. At least we know exactly when we get to watch it. I'am sorry but my patience for Glen's movie has run out. It's been delayed so many times I have lost count. I hope it eventually gets made. But in the mean time I will watch knight rider on tv.

This is a really tough call. If the Glen Larson movie was a continuation (like the TV series), I would definitely lean towards Larson's movie. A reboot just doesn't seem as exciting when you already know the plot.
The benefits of Larson's movie though is the big budget - you can get top notch acting, awesome car stunts and a really high quality feel. If successful, we could also get a sequel or two.
The benefits of the series is that you get to see a lot more. (different stories, guest stars, etc.)
I am slightly leaning towards the Glen Larson movie, but only by a hair!

Ha! I wonder if Chinese Democracy will come out before Glen's KR movie?

2010...
When there's a poster, trailer, coverage in the trades, and the proper marketing campaign, you'll change your tune. I guarantee it.

There is pro and cons to both. My answer is both. The feature film puts Knight Rider on the big screen, big budget, big special effects and so on but i get one taste on the feature film. I am by no way saying That i prefer a show over a big Hollywood production. I can't wait to see Knight Rider on the big screen. The tv series I get Knight Rider weekly if it pans out and NBCU makes it into a series. Seeing Knight Rider every week again is exciting as a Knight Rider fan. I don't prefer,I'm excited to get Knight Rider.

Victor I think I can say we all wait eagerly for the day when the big screen movie really starts moving along. But for now my attention is on the tv movie finally we fans get to watch somthing. It's been along 16 years since knight 2000. Sorry I don't count TKR or knightrider2010. As far as I'am concerned they never happened.

Hell, Duke Nuke'em Forever is supposedly coming out next year so anything is possible.

I agree with Michael Pajaro... the series is a "been there, done that/safe mode."
We can see more creative license on the screen, and after we've seen the success of other reboots (Batman Begins and Casino Royale), here's a chance for some reinvention, maybe redemption too.

I rather see an Tv show then and movie, because I believe that the Knight Rider movie that NBC did in 1992 still leaves a bad taste in fans mouths.
Devan.... *cries*

What? You just said a mouth full there. NBC made the 2000 movie and they are making this back door pilot movie... what does that have to do with the creator of Knight Rider [Glen Larson] making a bad movie, when its NBC thats been dropping bombs like KR 2000, TRK, and KR 2010 all a long?
